Press Release
Obituary of the Da’wah Carrier
Mirza Ahmadov Miraziz
(Translated)
With deep sorrow and grief, we mourn the passing of another of our steadfast and pious sons, and we do not vouch for anyone before Allah. Our brother Mirza Ahmad Mir Aziz passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, and the funeral prayer was held for him yesterday, Saturday. Mir Aziz was born in Tashkent in 1970. He was one of the thousands of sincere and courageous Muslims who responded to Hizb ut Tahrir's call to the people of Uzbekistan to work to restore an Islamic way of life.
Mir Aziz, like many other men, was arrested and sentenced to long prison terms in his prime under the brutal, repressive regime of the tyrant Karimov. After nearly 20 years in prison, in 2025, at the age of 55, he was released, nearly dead, due to severe physical and psychological torture in prison.
This faithful man, who spent nearly half his life in forsaken prisons, remained faithful to the pledge he made to Allah. He did not bow down to Karimov's bloody regime, did not recognize it, and did not accept anything other than the Khilafah (Caliphate), which implements Allah's laws.
We ask Allah Almighty to have mercy on our brother Mir Aziz and grant him good condition and to include him among the ranks of the believers about whom He (swt) said:
[مِنْ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلاً]
“Among the believers are men who have proven true to what they pledged to Allah.1 Some of them have fulfilled their pledge ˹with their lives˺, others are waiting ˹their turn˺. They have never changed ˹their commitment˺ in the least.” [Al-Ahzab 33:23].
We also express our deepest condolences to our brother's family and relatives, and pray to Allah to grant them beautiful patience and steadfastness. In this context, we can only say:
[إِنَّا للهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ] “Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we will ˹all˺ return.” [Al-Baqara 2:156].
