Exposure of Fraudulent Trials against Former Political Prisoners

The Uzbek regime has committed a heinous act by re-imprisoning former political prisoners who had previously served 20-year sentences. The court rulings, which initially sentenced 15 innocent, devout young men to lengthy prison terms based on slander and false accusations, remained largely unchanged after the appeal court’s review.

Regarding the Trial of the Appeals Court of Former Political Prisoners

As we mentioned earlier, the court of appeal is holding a trial of 15 former political prisoners in Tashkent. Fifteen out of the 23 men (Shabab), who were previously imprisoned for 20 years for their ideologies and beliefs, were sentenced in July this year to prison terms ranging from 7 to 14 years, most of them were sentenced to a special regime detention center.

Can the Court of Appeal Correct the Uzbek Government’s Wrong and Free the Oppressed?

A few months ago, 23 former political prisoners were tried in Tashkent. It was found that 15 of them were classified as "extremely dangerous repeat offenders" and were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 7 to 14 years, to be served in a special regime detention center. The remaining eight were sentenced to house arrest for up to 5 years.
