 Press Release
Bloody Escalation on the Pakistan-Afghanistan Border and the Failure of Both Sides to Adhere to the Rule of Allah

Away from the “self-restraint” policy adopted by the current governments in Pakistan and Afghanistan toward the enemies of the Ummah — the Jews, Hindus, and Americans — both Pakistan and Afghanistan announced that dozens of soldiers from each side had been killed in clashes that erupted along their shared border. The confrontations began on Saturday evening with an operation launched by Taliban forces, prompting Islamabad to vow a strong response. Kabul, in turn, declared that its forces had carried out operations against Pakistani security forces in retaliation for repeated violations and air raids conducted by the Pakistani army on Afghan territory.

In the midst of these events, India stands by gleefully, watching the blood of Muslims being shed by the hands of their own brothers. This comes after the Afghan government chose to move closer to India — a result of the reckless policies adopted by Pakistan’s leadership, which alienated the Afghan government and expelled Afghan “refugees” from Pakistan. Consequently, Afghanistan turned toward Pakistan’s archenemy, India. This unprecedented closeness between Kabul and New Delhi has angered Pakistan and pushed it to act. As part of this rapprochement, India on Friday hosted the Afghan foreign minister for the first time since 2021 and announced that its diplomatic mission in Kabul would soon be upgraded to a full-fledged embassy.

Whether the deterioration of relations between Islamabad and Kabul stems from Afghanistan’s warming ties with India or from its alleged support for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the primary blame lies with both governments for failing to resolve their disputes independently — away from Indian and international interference — and for refusing to refer their conflicts to the Qur’an and Sunnah, as Allah Almighty said:

[إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ]

“The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.” [Al-Hujurat: 1]. Instead, each side has begun describing the other as an enemy or foreign aggressor. Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid stated in a Sunday press conference that “58 Pakistani soldiers were killed in this operation.” Meanwhile, the Pakistani army reported that “23 Pakistani soldiers were martyred defending the territorial integrity of our nation against this blatant aggression,” adding that it had “killed or injured more than 200 Taliban fighters and affiliated terrorists through precise strikes and bombardments.”

In stark contrast to the diplomatic tone and “self-restraint” policy that Pakistan’s government adopts toward its eternal foe, India, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif threatened Afghanistan in a statement: “There will be no compromise in defending Pakistan; every provocation will be met with a strong and effective response.” Kabul responded in kind, displaying the same lack of understanding of basic Islamic principles and obligatory rulings. Mujahid declared on Sunday: “Pakistan attacked this morning, and we are ready to respond forcefully.”

How Muslims long to see such strength and resolve directed instead at the true enemies of Allah — those who have persistently assaulted the Ummah in Kashmir, Gaza, and East Turkestan! Yet these rulers are but agents of the colonialist disbelievers, serving only their masters’ interests. Among those interests is to sow enmity, division, and discord among Muslims themselves. Their condition perfectly fits the old saying about cowards: “A lion against his own, but an ostrich in battle.”

While Shehbaz Sharif threatens his Afghan brothers, he simultaneously prepares to attend the so-called “Conference on Tolerance” (Gaza Peace Summit) in Sharm El-Sheikh — a forum that seeks to whitewash the crimes of the Jews — chaired by none other than the Ummah’s sworn enemy, Donald Trump.

O Muslims in Pakistan, O sincere ones in the Pakistani army!

Your rulers and commanders are your true enemies, so beware of them

[هُمُ الْعَدُوُّ فَاحْذَرْهُمْ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ]“They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?” [Al-Munafiqun: 4]. It would have required far less military effort, sacrifice, and martyrdom to liberate Kashmir or support the oppressed in the Blessed Land of Palestine than what has been expended to consolidate American dominance in Afghanistan and to fight Muslims there. Yet your rulers and generals employ the nation’s resources and your forces in the path of Satan rather than in the path of Allah — as you would wish and as He commands.

It is not unlikely that this blood, spilled from both sides, will be exploited by the Kabul government as a pretext to agree to hand over the Bagram Air Base to the United States, allowing America to use it once again as a launching point for strikes against any regional rival — especially the sincere sons of the Ummah.

Therefore, it is incumbent upon the Ummah to work alongside the sincere members of Hizb ut Tahrir to rid itself of these conspirators who violate the sanctities of Islam. The sincere officers within the Pakistani army must grant their nusrah (support) to Hizb ut Tahrir to establish the Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the method of Prophethood — to appoint a Khalifah who rules by what Allah has revealed, unifying Pakistan with Afghanistan and the rest of the Muslim lands.

This is the very state promised by the Messenger of Allah (saw) after the current era of oppressive rule, as he (saw) said:

«ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مُلْكًا جَبْرِيَّةً، فَتَكُونُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ، ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَهَا، ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ ثم سكت»

“...Then there will be a tyrannical monarchy, and it will last as long as Allah wills it to last. Then He will remove it when He wills to remove it. Then there will be a Khilafah upon the method of Prophethood.” (Narrated by Ahmad).
