If the Soup is Salty, Changing the Spoon won't Work!
News:
In an interview with The Economist, Ahmed al-Sharaa said, "If the experts approve Sharia, my duty is to implement it. If they don't, it's my duty to implement their decision."
Comment:
The Arabic idiom, ‘If the soup is salty, changing the spoon won't work’, expresses that superficial or temporary solutions without getting to the root cause of a problem are ineffective and meaningless. If the main factor that causes the salinity of the soup is not eliminated, changing the spoon will not do any good. This phrase emphasizes the futility of taking by-roads instead of solving a problem directly. It explains that ignoring the real problems and wasting time with temporary measures only leads to a waste of time and distracts from the main solution. Any intervention without permanent and fundamental change only creates an illusion and prevents from solving the real problem.
Since the fall of the Khilafah, political parties have been established many times in Muslim lands, governments and leaders have changed; however, the basic structural problems continued to exist by becoming chronic. Changing leaders is like changing the spoon, but as long as the soup, the secular democratic capitalist system, remains as it is, the problems will continue. Real change will be possible not only by changing people, but also by making a radical transformation towards the essence of the system.
Syria: Only Spoons Have Changed!
For years, Muslims in Syria have been fighting at great cost to overthrow the secular Baathist regime. They gave up their lives, their property, and their children. But what has changed? Only the spoons have changed. The regime remains in place, and its essential elements remain. The Islamic Sharia is not being implemented and it does not seem possible to implement it. As a matter of fact, in an interview with The Economist, Ahmed al-Sharaa said, "If the experts approve Sharia, my duty is to implement it. If they don't, it's my duty to implement their decision.", and this reveals the truth.
Again, in an exclusive interview with the Syrian Television, Al-Sharaa made remarkable statements about the political process that the country will follow in the future. Stating that the republican system is taken as the basis for a stable governance model, Al-Sharaa claimed that the legislative, executive and judicial powers will work in harmony. However, in reality, considering that only the names in the administration have changed and the basic system has been preserved, it is clear that these statements do not go beyond distracting the people.
The replacement of the tyrant Assad with Ahmed al-Sharaa did not change the taste of the soup, which was salty. In the same way, Muslims in Muslim lands have supported some leaders for years in the hope that they will bring Sharia to power, and the example of Erdoğan is a vivid example. However, they were disappointed every time.
It’s Time to Change the Taste of the Soup!
Instead of supporting non-Islamic systems that fail to solve problems do not implement Islamic rulings, and spend all their power to appease the colonial kuffar, Muslims should now take action to change the soup itself. This is possible by waging a political and intellectual struggle to establish the Khilafah, which is the only administrative system of Islam. In order for them to drink from Islam, Muslims must establish the Khilafah. Thus, they will not need to change spoons once again.
