Ramadan Series Heroic Sahaba (ra): Habib al-Najjar
Ramadan Mubarak to the best Ummah brought forth for humankind. The Islamic Ummah that Allah has honored with His obedience... The Ummah Voice Podcast is pleased to present during the month of Ramadan Heroic Stances of the Sahaba (ra). Sahaba (ra) who had a positive impact in changing the course of events, and set an example for many members of the Islamic Ummah.
One Character that can be attributed for his heroic stance is Habib al-Najjar , or the believer of the Yassin family is a righteous man who used to live in Ash-Sham. The Quran mentions him in Surah Yasin, when it mentions the story of the "people of al-Qarya". The people had rejected not one or two but THREE messengers who went to invite them to believe in Allah (swt) and not worship idols. They mocked and ridiculed the message of the prophets.
A man then from the farthest part of the city, came running who exhorted the people to believe the message and told them: “O my people! Obey the messengers: “Obey those who ask no reward of you (for themselves), and who have themselves received Guidance.” The people tortured him severely until his death. When he passed away his soul had entered Jannah. When he witnessed Jannah, he said: “I wish my people knew * of what He has forgiven me My Lord, and he made me among.”
The pity that this man had taken on his people and not anger for what his people did to him. He did not fear his people but feared Allah (swt) and said the truth to them even though he knew what his people would do to him. This man was fearless to speak the truth and follow the way of the Messengers. A true characteristic of a true Dawah carrier. He did not give up nor was he ashamed to proclaim the Haqq.
Jihad was done before these ruthless oppressors to speak the truth without fear. Today, it is a war against our religion, our beliefs, our children. The agendas of CEDAW or the LGBTQ corrupting Muslims minds leading to Haraam relationships. These Western agendas have been tirelessly worked upon for decades to rid the Muslim Ummah of their Deen. Why then would we want to attack one another? We should all hold firmly to the rope of Allah (swt) and call to the Ummah with patience, diligence, and not attack one another like the case of Habib al-Najjar. We need to have love for the Ummah and have pity on them due to the constant attacks that are being fired from every angle. We as an Ummah need to teach each other Islam and firmly hold onto our religion. May Allah (swt) unite us an Ummah that no one shall dare to ever attack our beloved Islam.
