Known for his knowledge, understanding and wisdom, Abdullah ibn Abbas (r.a) was a great Mufassir and all-round scholar of the Deen. But is knowledge sought without a need or context? Umar (r.a) summoning ibn Abbas (r.a) to discuss and solve the problems of the time exemplifies how knowledge in Islam is sought to solve peoples problems - of which humanity is facing all too many today!
