A controversial advertisement appeared in Malaysia to announce the sale on female Indonesian migrant workers as cheap maids only by 7,500 RM as opposed to the normal placement rate in Malaysia totaling 12,000 ringgits. A photo of the flyer, which listed a 40 percent discount on placement fees for Indonesian maids, was tweeted by Anis Hidayah on Sunday.

The flyer provocatively read, "Indonesian maids now on SALE!" It dehumanizes migrant workers. Indonesian and Malaysian governments have criticized the advertisement made by irresponsible people. However, Fika M. Komara from the Women Section of Southeast Asia Central Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir states that the dehumanization happened because of the government's irresponsiblity to their people.
