 Naveed Butt… Are 10 Years of Abduction Not Enough?!

On 11^th May 2021, the tenth year will begin since Naveed Butt, the Official Spokesman of Hizb ut Tahrir in the Wilayah of Pakistan was abducted and confined in the dungeons of the secret agencies. Allah (swt) said,

] مُّحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ اللَّهِ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ أَشِدَّاءُ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ رُحَمَاءُ بَيْنَهُمْ[

“Muhammad is Allah's Messenger, and those who are with him are firm with the disbelievers and compassionate with one another.” [Al-Fath 48:29]. How the affairs of these American agent rulers are twisted! They are gentle with the enemy kuffar exhibiting love, compassion and kindness for them. Yet, they deal with Muslims with an iron fist, even using the language of fire and bombs. This is despite the Hadith Qudsi, in which RasulAllah (saw) said, «إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَالَ مَنْ عَادَى لِي وَلِيًّا فَقَدْ آذَنْتُهُ بِالْحَرْبِ» “Allah said, 'I will declare war against the one who shows hostility to my wali (friend).” (Bukhari).

Fifty-two year old Naveed Butt, father of four, is a loyal and praiseworthy son of the Islamic Ummah. He is an ideological politician of such a class that he can easily fulfill the responsibility of ruling in any post, after the re-establishment of the Khilafah (Caliphate). He is from a noble Kashmiri family residing in Islamabad. He gained admission to the renowned University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. His brilliance was such that he was transferred to the University of Illinois in the US, where he completed his graduation. He was working in the private sector in the US, when he decided to return to Pakistan to be part of the global struggle for re-establishing the Khilafah upon the method of the Prophethood in the Muslim Lands, willingly leaving behind a luxurious life to face the wrath of tyrants. He tirelessly exposed the treachery of the rulers against Islam and Muslims and their slavery to the US, through writing hundreds of press releases, penning dozens of columns, addressing dozens of press conferences, seminars and conferences, and meeting thousands of influential people, over the course of his struggle. He traveled all over Pakistan to enlighten people about the obligation of re-establishing Khilafah and the details of its structure. During his political and intellectual struggle, he endured repeated arrests and imprisonment and was renowned for his defiance and bravery.

It is clear as day that despite the severe repression of the Pakistani regime, Hizb ut Tahrir has neither abandoned nor slowed in its struggle. Instead, the influence of Hizb ut Tahrir has increased generally in the Muslims and particularly in the armed forces. Indeed, the Muslims regard those who bear difficulties in the cause of Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw) as being the sincere ones and deserving of leadership. In this blessed month of Ramadhan, we pray to Allah (swt) that, like the Prophet Yousuf (as), He (swt) grants Naveed Butt escape from the dungeons of the tyrant and honors him with ruling by all that Allah (swt) has revealed. Thus, [وَسَيَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ]“And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.” [Ash-Shu'ara: 227].

On Friday, 11th May 2012, Naveed Butt was abducted by intelligence personnel of the Pakistani state, whilst collecting his young children from school.

As the Official Spokesman of Hizb ut Tahrir in Pakistan, Naveed Butt undertook peaceful political activism, advocating the Khilafah.

Naveed staunchly believes that Pakistan's progress is denied due to its subservience to America and the implementation of the non-Islamic system of Democracy in Pakistan.

In fact, Naveed Butt was abducted after he severely criticized Pakistan's rulers for releasing the American spy Raymond Davis and failing to protect Pakistan from the American aggression on Abottabad.

Naveed Butt is an electrical engineer by profession and a father to three sons and one daughter, who are desperately awaiting his return.

We condemn Pakistan’s regime for its brutal treatment of Naveed Butt and call for his immediate release and safe return to his family.

O People of Power and Influence! We call upon you to use your strength and influence to secure the release of your honorable brother, Naveed Butt. 

Naveed Butt is well known to us all as the honest guide, advocate of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood (saw) and official spokesman of Hizb ut Tahrir in the Wilayah Pakistan.

Our noble brother Naveed was seized on 11th May 2012 by thugs of the rulers at the time, the Kayani-Zardari regime.

In this blessed month of Ramadan, with its abundant rewards for the righteous, we call upon you to raise his case and demand his release, so that a tenth year of oppression does not pass. We call upon you to assist Naveed in his hardship and in the hardship of his family, whilst reminding you of the speech of the Messenger of Allah (saw), who said,

«مَنْ نَفَّسَ عَنْ مُؤْمِنٍ كُرْبَةً مِنْ كُرَبِ اَلدُّنْيَا، نَفَّسَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُرْبَةً مِنْ كُرَبِ يَوْمِ اَلْقِيَامَةِ»

“If anyone relieves a Muslim believer from one of the hardships of this worldly life, Allah will relieve him of one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection” [Muslim].

More than nine years have passed since the regime in Pakistan kidnapped engineer Naveed Butt, the official spokesman for Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Pakistan, and since he was abducted and his whereabouts are unknown!

In this regard, Hizb ut Tahrir / Kenya sent, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, a delegation to the Embassy of Pakistan in Nairobi, and the delegation headed by the media representative of Hizb ut Tahrir in Kenya Shaaban Moallem was accompanied by Yasin Kiwayo, Head of Central Contact Committee of Hizb ut Tahrir / Kenya and Mr. Yousef Ghazana is a member of Hizb ut Tahrir in Kenya. The delegation met and spoke with Mr. Charles, an embassy staff member who promised to provide three copies of the press release in three languages; Urdu, Arabic and English, to Ambassador.

After Friday prayers on July 02, 2021, Hizb ut Tahrir in Kenya organized a series of events to highlight the case of Brother Naveed Butt in support and advice, calling for his immediate release, and the imam of Al-Taqwa Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Ali, read the statement issued by the Central Media Office entitled: "A Call to End the Forced Disappearance of Naveed Butt in Pakistan" to worshipers after Friday prayers. Allah Almighty takes care of the righteous.

Symbolic Stand before the Pakistani Embassy

Monday morning, June 21, 2021 a delegation from Hizb ut Tahrir/ Wilayah Tunisia where the representative of the Chargé d’Affairs were handed two copies of the press release in Arabic and Urdu issued by the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir addressed to the Pakistani government under the title, "A Call to End the Forced Disappearance of Naveed Butt in Pakistan." The delegation was headed by the Central Contact Committee, Ust. Yassin bin Yahya, Member of The Central Contact Committee Ust. Habib Al-Hajjaji, as well as the Head of the Media Office Dr. Al Assad Al-Ajili.
