A Seerah Conference is not enough. Establish Khilafah Now.

The International Seerah Conference in connection concluded in Islamabad on 29 September, with a pledge to bring economic stability in the country in light of the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ. The path of the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ is to reject all non-Islamic laws including interest, fiat currency, privatization of public properties and taxation on the poor. Implementing capitalism is the root cause of our economic miseries. The only solution is to implement the Islamic economic system, under the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood. We call upon all those who attended this Conference to openly reject capitalism and democracy. We call upon all the ulema to raise the call for the re-establishment of the Khilafah. Otherwise we will be considered amongst those who speak words, without meaning them.

 The Solution to the Electricity Crisis is to Make the Power Sector Public Property

The power generation sector was opened for private investment on the model suggested by the World Bank. It is based on the corrupt capitalist theory of “the private sector alone is the engine of growth” and “it is not the government’s job to run business.” Private power producers took huge loans from banks, and set up power plants with that money. The government contracted power plants producers on a “take-and-pay” basis in dollars. In these agreements, investors in power plants are guaranteed a return on all business costs, including interest payments. The Khilafah state supervises the public property assets, such as oil, gas, water, grazing pasture land, electricity and water, for public expenditure. The Khaleefah (Caliph) of the Muslims is not allowed to transfer these publicly owned assets into private ownership, through privatization.

Reko Diq’s Gold and Copper Deposits are Public Property in Islam. It is a Sin to Privatize Them.

Regarding the Reko Diq gold and copper project, government companies and the Balochistan government have 50% shares, while a Canadian company has 50% shares. Islam considers energy resources and minerals to be public property that benefits all the people in common. Public property is supervised by the state. Instead of supervising the mineral project itself, the government has handed supervision over to a Canadian company. The regime is now selling its shareholdings to the private sector. The government is causing a concentration of wealth, instead of a distribution of wealth. The Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophetood will benefit the people by bringing all minerals and energy under state supervision.

High Tax Collection Oppress the People to Secure Profits for the Investors in Interest Based Loans

The Federal Board of Revenues has exceeded its tax collection targets set by the International Monetary Funds in the first quarter of the new financial year by 46 billion Rupees. This is 507 billion Rupees more than the tax collected, in the same period, last year. Unfortunately, this tax collection will neither liberate Kashmir, nor secure the needs of the people. Instead, it will be handed over to banks that profit from interest loans. This year approximately 7,500 billion rupees will be paid in riba payments. The current fiscal policy is in fact a colonialist policy. It is aimed at feeding capitalists with Pakistan’s resources. The fiscal policy of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood uses our resources to fulfill all the Shariah legal obligations.

Pakistan has the Highest Inflation in Asia Because of the Relentless Printing of Money

According to the projection of the Ministry of Finance, in September 2023, the inflation rate in Pakistan is 31%. This data contradicts the government’s claims that inflation is expected to decrease further. According to an Asian Development Bank report, Pakistan has the highest inflation in Asia. Printing notes relentlessly has rendered our currency worthless. Rupees are like specks of dust that can be blown away with a gust of wind. Islam’s currency is the dinar and dirham, based on gold and silver, which ties the hands of the Khaleefah. The Khaleefah cannot print currency whenever he wishes. Gold and silver currency eliminates the “inflation tax” and stabilizes the value of the currency. The Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood will abolish the worthless fiat currency.

Publicly Owned Factories can Easily Eliminate Pakistan’s Budget Deficit

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) said on 29 September 2023 that it made a profit after tax of 224.6 billion rupees. It is often said that government-sponsored companies suffer losses. On this basis government companies are privatized, in accordance with the post Washington Consensus prescriptions. However, OGDCL’s one year profit shows that the problem is securing good supervision. It is not about the company running under government patronage. Institutions like OGDCL, Pakistan State Oil, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and Pakistan Steel Mills can earn the government trillions of rupees annually, under good supervision. The Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood will supervise factories related to oil, gas and steel as public property.  The Khaleefah will ensure their supervision by the capable within the people of competency, whether they are currently in the private sector or not.

The Establishment of the Khilafah is the Only Way to Rescue Pakistan from Crises

On 1 October 2023, Maryam Nawaz said that Nawaz Sharif has devised a comprehensive agenda to solve the country’s problems. She claimed that Nawaz will end the miseries of the people. However, Nawaz Sharif was the prime minister of the country three times before. Yet, each time he implemented the destructive capitalist agenda of the International Monetary Fund. As a result, the rich became richer, whilst the poor became poorer. So what new agenda does Nawaz want to implement by becoming the Prime Minister for the fourth time? The comprehensive agenda of the problems facing the country is the implementation of the Islamic Shariah, in all spheres of life. The Shariah method for implementing Islam is the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood. A believer must not be stung from the same hole twice. Let us reject any projects other than Khilafah.
