بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
On the 24th of Rajab 1429 AH, corresponding to Sunday July 27th 2008, Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Lebanon held its third annual conference. The conference was addressed by the Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Lebanon, Engineer Osman Bakhach, the head of the media office, Ustadh Ahmad al-Qasas, the secretary of the Central Committee, Ustadh Omar Hammoud and a member of the advisory body, Ustadh Mohammad Ibrahim.
In his speech, Osman Bakhach, examined the international nature of the conflict in Lebanon., He explained that the political events of today are nothing more than an extension of the existing international conflict that has continued in the region for decades. He explained that Lebanon was afflicted by the international colonialism in the Middle East undertaken by Western governments. Western governments had supported various factions and taken advantage of sectarianism to achieve their interests.
In conclusion, Ahmad al-Qasas, citing the 87th anniversary of the destruction of the Caliphate, said that Hizb ut-Tahrir called on the people of Lebanon, Muslim and non-Muslim, to work to liberate the Islamic world, including Lebanon, from the subservience to the USA and Western governments. He also reminded conference delegates that the work to resume the Islamic way of life and re-establish the Caliphate did not mean that non-Muslims in Lebanon would be oppressed - on the contrary, the Caliphate would secure the rights of its citizens, Muslim and non-Muslim.
