Hizb ut-Tahrir/ Britain Delivers Rajab Address
On 29th Rajab 1429 (2nd August 2008) Hizb ut-Tahrir/ Britain gave an address to Muslims attalks in London on the Party's Global campaign throughout the month of Rajab, and linking this to its coming conference on August 16th 2008.
Dr Naseem (UK Party Chairman) spoke for about 30 minutes and took questions and answers about the month's activities. Rajab marks the anniversary of the destruction of Khilafah "Caliphate" state, the Islamic state of the Muslims that ruled by Quran and Sunnah for one thousand three hundred from the time the Prophet (saw) established the first Islamic state in Medina.
Throughout this month Hizb ut-Tahrir has held a series of events across the whole world. In Pakistan the party held a march in Lahore. In Lebanon and Yemen there were conferences. In Palestine the party held a march in Gaza and today in Ramallah, and the women of Hizb ut-Tahrir demonstrated in Hebron - despite the oppression of the rulers. All the events reminded the Muslims of the Islamic obligation of Khilafah "Caliphate", and the tragedies that have befallen the Ummah since its abolition in 1924: occupation, poverty, technological backwardness, political weakness, sectarian conflict.
But Dr Naseem went onto address the future of the Muslim world, and its potential to be united, and for its resources to unified and harnessed under a sincere Islamic leadership, that once again ruled according to the Quran and Sunnah and that was fully accountable to its citizens. This can harness the resources of the Muslim world - unparalleled oil and gas reserves, huge human resources and intellectual skills, substantial wealth, and an ample defence capability. This is the Khilafah "Caliphate" promised in the hadith of the Prophet (saw) mentioned in Musnad Ahmad, where he (saw) foretold that following a period of oppressive rule, when Allah willed "there will be Khilafah "Caliphate" on the path of Prophethood."
