The Two Sides of Danger in the Vision of “Greater Israel”

Netanyahu recently declared that he feels he is “on a historic and spiritual mission,” and that he is deeply committed to the vision of a “Greater Israel (Eretz Israel)” which includes Palestinian lands, and perhaps also parts of Jordan and Egypt. Netanyahu, who speaks of his dream, spirituality, and commitment to his Talmudic project, had previously spoken about the dreams and projects of others, when he denied the possibility of the return of the Khilafah (Caliphate) to the shores of the Mediterranean, claiming that he alone is master of the region and its projects.
Netanyahu’s statements are a warning bell, a double toll of danger. They have surpassed all limits of audacity, as they reflect the level of greed and aggression his entity has reached. They also describe the state of weakness and humiliation the Ummah has reached under its ruling regimes. Both are dangerous realities, as if the so-called “Greater Israel” project has two sides working together, forming a single objective circumstance, in which each completes the other:
The first side is related to the Jewish entity itself and its nature, which appears in several aspects:
Firstly: Since its establishment, the Jewish entity has been expansionist. From the partition plan that granted it half of Palestine, to the 1948 war in which it seized 78%, and then its occupation of the West Bank and its continuous efforts since then to swallow it, all of this points clearly to its intended meaning. There is nothing to indicate its intention to stop. Its permanent excuse is the need for “strategic depth” to guarantee its security. However, recent statements have gone beyond security to their Talmudic project. Indeed, the idea of “Greater Israel” goes back to Herzl, the founder of Zionism. It is not a new idea but rather a long-standing goal embedded in the entity’s existence.
Secondly: The idea of “Greater Israel” is no longer an odd statement from one politician. It is a project embraced by many politicians of the Jewish entity and has enough traction within a right-wing extremist society. Netanyahu’s words reflect the views of the entity’s public. Just recently, their communications minister declared, “The two banks of the Jordan River, this one is ours and that one too, and the West Bank is ours first.”
Thirdly: In a world whose politics, especially in America, no longer recognize sacred plans or fixed values, major changes in the region are not unlikely, especially as they openly speak of a new Sykes–Picot. Their hostility to Islam has no limits, and with such fierce aggression, what once seemed unimaginable has now become reality.
The second side, the more frightening side, lies with the rulers of Muslims and their regimes. They are the other part that objectively complements the “Greater Israel” project. While they may reject Netanyahu’s statements in words, in reality they have for decades been laying the groundwork for them. They continue to pave the way for defeat. The same conditions that allowed for the swallowing of Palestine and the expulsion of its people, then the swallowing of the West Bank, Sinai, and the Golan Heights, still exist today indeed, in an even worse form. Today’s rulers are closer to defeat, as their collusion remains dominant.
These rulers have done, and still do, everything to weaken the Ummah before its enemy. On one hand, they have exhausted their lands and peoples with poverty and corruption, produced no weapons, and secured no frontiers. On the other hand, instead of helping their brothers in Palestine and supporting them against their enemy or at least keeping the enemy drained and preoccupied, they conspired with it against the heroes of their own people. Now they even demand the disarmament of Gaza, failing to learn from their enemy who sustains separatists in Syria and collaborates with them for his own security.
Contrary to how states normally act when facing strategic threats by forming alliances, increasing armament, sensing danger, mobilizing their nations, conducting military exercises, or taking any measure that could achieve deterrence, these rulers do the exact opposite. They ignore the fact that the entity is an enemy, even though it declares hostility daily. This is treacherous behavior, a betrayal of the Ummah’s security. In contrast, they see no threat except from their own peoples, mobilizing only against any cry or plea that arises from them, even if it is merely a call for help.
The collective message of the Arab rulers, through their betrayal of Palestine and its people, was well understood by the enemy. It sent him only their fear and cowardice, which only increased his greed just as a wolf grows hungrier at the sight of a weak lamb. While the innate Jihad-inclined nature of the Ummah remains the most dangerous weapon it could unleash against any enemy in the world, these rulers have been the first to extinguish its flame.
Perhaps the most dangerous thing they have ever done on behalf of Western colonialism, through them, was the weakening of the Ummah’s Aqeedah, in order to raise generations unfit for war or confrontation. At the very moment Netanyahu openly declares his cross-border religious dream and mission, the Arab rulers strive to fight and exclude any mention of the counter-project, the project of Islam and the Khilafah (Caliphate). These rulers wage war on its adherents. They insist on distancing themselves from everything Islam obligates, repeatedly declaring the exclusion of Deen from such causes and clinging instead to narrow nationalism, which fragments the Ummah’s project, the Khilafah, the only true counter to the enemy’s project.
Today, Jews are swallowing the West Bank, seeking to displace the people of Gaza, occupying Syrian and Lebanese lands, and working to establish what they call the “David Corridor.” What then guarantees Egypt, Saudi Arabia, or Syria against further dismemberment? What guarantees that Jordan will not be swallowed? Will they be saved or abandoned by the cursed policy of “Whoever locks himself within his homeland is safe”? Or will they betray one another as they betrayed Palestine and its people?
Allah (swt) has already informed us of the Jews and their ongoing corruption,
[وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَسَاداً وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِينَ]
“And they strive to spread corruption in the land. And Allah does not like corruptors” [TMQ Surah Al-Maidah: 64]. This is their eternal project. As for the disbelievers generally, Allah (swt) has also exposed their project,
[وَلَا يَزَالُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ حَتَّى يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَن دِينِكُمْ إِنِ اسْتَطَاعُوا]
“And they will not stop fighting you until they turn you away from your faith—if they can” [TMQ Surah Al-Baqarah: 217].
The Islamic Ummah has the strength and is capable of crushing the Jewish entity and burying it along with its evil dreams indeed, capable of burying colonialism and its ambitions altogether, if it adopts Islam and establishes its state. But all this is contingent upon its liberation from its treacherous rulers. Otherwise, dormant strength is like no strength at all. Allah (swt) said,
[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تَنصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ]
“O believers! If you stand up for Allah, He will help you and make your steps firm” [TMQ Surah Muhammad: 7].
