#WeAreNotAfraid for there is another Dangerous Terror

News

A series of explosions has rocked the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, with gun battles on the streets on 14th January. The blasts were centered on Thamrin Street, a major shopping and business district close to foreign embassies and the United Nations offices. Soon after, the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the strike, saying that its “crusader alliance” had orchestrated the deadly raid. Many Indonesians responded with a message of defiance, using the hashtag #KamiTidakTakut, which can be translated as: “We are not afraid”.

True, Muslims in Indonesia do not have to fear of such terror actions, because there is a more dangerous terror which piggybacking this Thamrin bomb issue. This is actually a psychological terror against Muslims which had been prepared to compartmentalize identity amongst the Ummah in order to weaken the Aqeedah and disrupt the Ummah. See, these last few days after Thamrin bomb incident – our ears have not stopped hearing a strong narrative of anti-radicalization and counter-terrorism which became an efficacious mantra by many local and international media through the exploitation of ISIS’s threat issue in Southeast Asia.

More than 200 million Muslims in Indonesia continue to be an easy target of this identity attack which is clearly an identity oppression for those who want implement Islam Kaffah (fully). The West wants the Muslims today to be measured by the “western-made” categorization where the figure of "moderate Muslims" will be loved and adored, meanwhile the "Radical Muslims" would be regarded as an enemy and eradicated. Demonization of Islam and the Khilafah "Caliphate" continue to be narrated to discredit the Islamic organizations and Muslim groups in Indonesia that are considered radical Islam, although the definition of radicalism is still very questionable and biased.

Obviously this is an integral part of imperialism strategy i.e. non-physical occupation as revealed by an orientalist icon of Southeast Asia, Snouck Hurgronje, he said: “There is no point in us fighting the Muslims or making confrontation against them to destroy Islam by force of arms. That's all we can do is pitting them from inside by instilling religious discord, ideas, and schools, and then cast doubt on the cleanliness of their leaders.”

Therefore, Muslims in Indonesia have to be smart and brave rejecting the linking between terrorism acts by ISIS with Islam and the obligation to re-establish Shariah and Khilafah "Caliphate" state (Caliphate) upon the method of the Prophethood. The Ummah also needs to stay strong, patient and focused to strengthen their identity as a true Muslims performing Islam Kaffah as well as in the struggle for the realization of Islamic life through the establishment of Sharia and the Khilafah "Caliphate". Not afraid of any challenges, obstacles and threats until this noble ideal completely materialized. Remember the words of Allah Ta'ala to the believers in the midst of condemnation of the Mushrikeen:

((وَلاَ تَهِنُوا وَلاَ تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنتُمُ الأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ))

“So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers.” [Al-i-Imran: 139]
