Rising Imports of Power Generators Expose Regime's Crippling of Industry

The government’s claim of record improvement in power generation and zero load-shedding in industrial sectors got a reality check on 30 May 2015 as data showed import bill of power generating machines went through the roof in April. Anticipating further load-shedding in the coming months, traders and industrialists imported generators worth $162 million in April 2015 alone, a sharp rise compared to $86m in March 2015 and $77.7m in April 2014. According to the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), generator imports stood at $1.1 billion during the first 10 months (July-April) of this fiscal year, up by 26 per cent compared to $873m a year ago. The figure was $1.07bn in 2013-14 and $958.6m in 2012-13. The government claimed a day back through print media ad campaign that there was zero load-shedding in industries for four months (November, December 2014 and February, March 2015), followed by 18-hour daily power supply from April to May 25, and then zero load-shedding again from May 25 onwards.

Industry is being crippled not just by huge taxation, but by power shortages. The regime is implementing the IMF-dictate for the privatization of Pakistan’s energy, which makes energy prone to shortages and makes it hugely expensive. In its letter of intent to the IMF of 12 March 2015, the Raheel-Nawaz regime asserted its commitment to, “attracting needed private sector investment.” Privatization raises energy prices so that the private owners can profit in their business, although this cripples industry and agriculture. In addition, to maintain profits in the face of the government withholding payments, the private interests are compelled to reduce production causing further crisis. In contrast to the IMF capitalist policy, Islam ensures the distribution of wealth and one of its mechanisms is the public ownership of energy and mineral resources. These resources are neither owned by the state nor individuals. Instead, the state administers such resources to ensure that its benefit is used for all the citizens. RasulAllah (saw) said, «الْمُسْلِمُونَ شُرَكَاءُ فِي ثَلَاثٍ الْمَاءِ وَالْكَلَإِ وَالنَّارِ»

The Muslims are partners in three things, waters, feeding pastures and fire.” (Ahmad). So, as soon as the Khilafah "Caliphate" is established, soon inshaaAllah, industry will receive a much needed and overdue boost.

Unleash Pakistan's Armed Forces to Answer the Cries of Oppressed Muslims

On 22 May 2015, according to a press release issued by ISPR, "General Khin Aung Myint, Commander-in-Chief, Myanmar Air Force called on General Rashad Mahmood, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. Both the dignitaries discussed matters related to professional interest and mutual cooperation between the two Armed Forces, and vowed to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation."

The regime claims that America is too powerful and Pakistan cannot survive economically and militarily without American support. It uses this cowardly excuse for complete subjugation and slavery to American dictates. So what is its excuse for supporting the Myanmar (Burmese) regime, a country that is barely visible on the world's map, against Rohingya Muslims? What excuse do these rulers have for such crimes against one of the most oppressed people on earth? What excuse can there be for supporting the criminal Myanmar regime at a time when it is carrying out genocide against Muslims. If it was cowardice which stopped Pakistan’s rulers from helping the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, fearing the reaction of the “international community”, what motivated these rulers to be partners of the killer Myanmar regime? Indeed these rulers are the worst of the Ummah.

Pakistan is blessed with world-class capable armed forces. Recently there was news about Pakistan’s elite commando forces being the best in the world, better than many of the Western powers and better than the collapsing “super power” America. Pakistan’s armed forces are capable enough to challenge any power in the world, under a sincere and aware leadership. Their immediate responsibility is to uproot the small ruling elite imposed on our necks by Western colonialists and pledge allegiance to a righteous Khalifah who would use Pakistan’s strength to unify the Muslim Ummah and protect the oppressed Muslims around the globe.

End US Presence to Secure Peace in Baluchistan

Addressing an All-Party Conference regarding the awful security situation in Baluchistan on 2 June 2015, Nawaz Sharif accused foreign forces, adding that, “The enemy wants to divide us on sectarian and ethnic grounds by pitting one sect against the other,” he said. Yet again the regime is pointing to foreign forces, but is doing nothing to practically to end foreign interference.

In the aftermath of President Musharraf siding with America’s war on Islam, Pakistan’s strategic depth in Afghanistan was hacked to pieces. This enabled America, Britain, and India to increase their influence in Baluchistan through bases and consulates located in Afghanistan.

America in particular is ahead in making mischief in Baluchistan. Way back in 2006, the eminent US think tank Carnegie Endowment for International Peace published a report titled, “Pakistan: The Resurgence of Baluch Nationalism”. The report highlights the rich natural resources of Baluchistan and then makes the case to use Baluchi rebels against Islamabad and Tehran. Furthermore, the US State Department-funded National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and the Voice of Baluchistan (VOB) have been instrumental in fomenting dissension and nationalistic feelings. NED has been funding the Baluchistan Institute for Development (BIFD) which claims to be the leading resource on democracy, development and human rights in Baluchistan, whereas the VOB on the other hand, has been active in carrying propaganda messages on behalf of the American government. Also, there is the Baluchi Society of North America, which openly carries messages of support from the colonialists. Over the past few years, the US has also been pressing Pakistan to allow it to open a consulate in Quetta the capital of Baluchistan, yet another lair to launch mischief from.

Yet whilst screaming about foreign forces, the regime persists in granting America, Britain and India diplomatic presence within Pakistan, as well as supporting a continued American presence in Afghanistan. Is there any greater proof of treachery required?

Khilafah "Caliphate" will Liberate Kashmir, not the United Nations

Speaking to participants of a course at the National Defence University on 4 June, General Raheel Sharif, chief of the world's seventh biggest army, said, “Kashmir is an unfinished agenda of partition, Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable.” He then added, “...we want Kashmir’s just resolution in the light of UN resolution and as per aspirations of Kashmiris to bring lasting peace in the region”.

The occupation of Kashmir by Hindu forces is a deep wound in the body of the Muslims, yet, successive regimes have neglected their duty, hiding behind the “international community” and the United Nations. The same international community, especially America, advised that the matter be resolved bilaterally between Pakistan and India, but India refused to even to talk on the matter. The Muslims of Kashmir and the region have waged Jihad, but first General Musharraf withdraw support on American instruction and since then every American puppet regime has followed the same policy. Nearly seven decades of history has proved that the liberation of Kashmir is not possible through United Nations, resorting to the “international community”, bilateral talks or the Jihad of individuals and groups. It is only possible through Jihad waged by armed forces.

Mobilizing the armed forces and other resources, the Khilafah "Caliphate" upon the method of the Prophethood will easily force India to abandon Kashmir. India could not face few thousands of Mujahideen supported by our armed forces and was forced to deploy more than five hundred thousand soldiers in Kashmir. How, then, will it be able to face the army of the Khilafah "Caliphate"? Allah (swt) said,

So be not weak, asking for peace, while you are having the upper hand. Allah is with you, and will never decrease the reward of your good deeds.” [Muhammad: 35]
