Tunisia and Misguided Calculations Regarding Ash-Sham

(Translated)

News:

The Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement concerning the events that occurred in Syria before the fall of Bashar al-Assad. The statement included the following, “Tunisia strongly condemns the terrorist attacks that have recently targeted northern Syria. It expresses its full solidarity with Syria and calls on the international community to support this brotherly country so it can preserve its sovereignty, the security of its people, its stability, and the unity of its territory.” (Cited from the official page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad).

Comment:

With its alignment with the tyrant of ash-Sham, Bashar al-Assad, and against the Islamic revolutionary tide, under the pretext of combating extremist ideologies, whilst denying the genocide suffered by the people of the Ash-Sham, the counter-revolutionary posturing reflected in Tunisia’s official stance is not at all surprising. This comes from a regime that has overridden its people’s will to entrench secularism and colonialist- imposed national borders. Instead of supporting the unification of the Ummah and the establishment of its state, Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Khilafah) on the Method of Prophethood, the regime chose to seek refuge in France’s embrace, busying itself in the sins of previous rulers, to prevent the Ummah’s reunification.

However, the relentless support for the criminal Bashar and his regime through official statements, wrapped in disgrace and humiliation, which betray the will of all the Ummah, including both the Tunisian and Syrian people alike, is a compound error. This not only sets the stage for a catastrophic fall, but also reflects the moral and political collapse of a stance that Tunisia’s official media portrays as heroic and honourable. This further misleads people and distorts their awareness, making it clear to any rational observer that the authoritarian regimes, blinded by the illusion of power, always remain on the margins of events, incapable of pre-empting colonialist plans, or even the timing of their agents’ disposal.

The Tunisian regime’s actions were not limited to the crime of normalizing relations with the tyrant Bashar al-Assad, restoring diplomatic relations with his corrupt regime, or shaking hands with a ruler, whose hands are drenched with the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent Syrians, during an Arab League summit that conspired against our people in Gaza. The regime did not stop there. It also exchanged congratulations for victories in shameful and disgraceful theatrical elections, where tyrants compete only to cling to power. Moreover, it further entrenched the criminal Bashar’s position, shielding him from any form of accountability or justice.

Thereby the regime combined its politically flawed stance, that contradicts Islamic Shariah law and its definitive (qat’i) Shariah rulings, foremost among them, ruling by what Allah (swt) has revealed, with poor political judgment. This judgment blinds the harmful rulers from recognizing the fate of every arrogant oppressor. It prevents them from accepting the inevitable fate of a tyrant’s downfall, or his fleeing like a rat, even if he is nicknamed al-Assad “the lion.” The norm should be for everyone to take heed, and for the image of the deposed Ben Ali’s flight to remain vivid and ingrained in the minds of all who ascend to power after the Arab Spring, for the tide is turning. Allah (swt) says,

“And do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire touch you. You have no protectors other than Allah. Then you will not be helped.” [TMQ Surah Hud 11:113].

The lesson from what is happening is that the absence of political awareness, based on Islam and its Shariah rulings, inevitably places rulers on the side of the enemies, even in the cases where they intend to do good. What can we say, then, when they have turned their backs on the Shariah Law of Allah (swt), rejected the Ummah’s vital project, and fought the Dawah carriers under the banner of “combating terrorism” in compliance with America’s orders? They have opened the doors wide for America to infiltrate armies, and prevent them from supporting the oppressed in Gaza.

This makes the rulers closer to betrayal and treachery than to political naivety. The norm should be for our rulers to learn lessons from the chaos and security collapse orchestrated by America in Libya, Yemen, and Sudan to fragment the region, subject the region to colonialist agendas, and ensure the dominance of the capitalist ideology globally. However, for these rulers, the land, honour, Aqeedah, and Deen are all secondary matters compared to clinging to power, despite their claims of patriotism and love for their people.

Will the rulers of Tunisia awaken to the imminent danger America is preparing, under the guise of threats and warnings, of spreading chaos and turning the Middle East into a living hell? America has mastered the engineering of intelligence-driven mobilization. Will they take heed of the potential return of thousands of fighters from Syria, possibly coordinated and directed by intelligence agencies, to Libya and Tunisia, creating conditions that pave the way for NATO intervention? Or will the official statements continue to affirm the unity of Syrian territory, and lament the ruins of Bashar, after Allah (swt) has disgraced him, and stripped him of power? For whose benefit do all oppressive rulers, without exception, insist on dividing Muslim lands and rejected the centrality of the Ash-Sham, the abode of believers, just as they have rejected the sanctity of the Sacred Kaaba and Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa? Allah (swt) said,

[وَإِنَّ هَذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاتَّقُونِ]

“Indeed, this Ummah of yours is one Ummah, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.” [TMQ Surah Al-Mu’minoon 23:52].
