Muslim Women Live in Fear in the World’s Established Democracies

News:

Two Muslim women were threatened with a gun in Kitchener, a city located west of Canada's largest city Toronto early Wednesday. According to a report by CTV News, the women said a stranger followed them with his car after morning prayers and pointed a gun at them. “We rolled down the window, he rolled down his, then we just saw him pull out his phone and point it at us, and we were like, okay, that's weird. And suddenly, in the other hand, he pulled out a gun and pointed it at us,” the daughter told CTV News. The women were unharmed but were left in fear and shaken by the incident. The women drove away, but the man allegedly followed them for some time. The women reported experiencing the incident after leaving the mosque, and they believe it was hate-motivated.

Comment:

Incidents of Muslim women being unable to live without fear and the consequence of being visibly Muslim is an ever-increasing global problem for all Muslim women. The cause of the lack of insecurity is due to the climate of complete lack of respect for what Muslim women stand for. They are targeted specifically because they refuse to live a life that cheapens their value, and they guard their honour out of fear for Allah (swt). If they joined the ransom of the women in the pubic hareem, they would also suffer the indignation and abuse of being nothing more than an object to be used and abused. What many Muslim women outside of the West do not realise is that the freedom offered is nothing more than an illusion to trap women into leaving the dignity of being a slave to Allah (swt) so that they can have a no-return ticket to being identified as a shameless personality with no moral code.

We as Muslim women will never surrender the noble position of being the best of Mankind in our adherence to Quran and Sunnah. We will follow the guidance of the Prophet (saw) as our best example:

(لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ كَثِيراً)

“Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah.” [Al-Ahzab: 21].
