The Revival of the MMA Must be for the Abolition of Democracy and the Establishment of the Khilafah
News:
The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) — an alliance of religious parties that had emerged on the country’s political horizon by contesting the 2002 General Elections — has been revived. Whilst announcing decisions made at a meeting of the parties, Mr Noorani, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan-N leader, said that the MMA would take part in the general elections next year with its previous election symbol and its manifesto would be drafted within one month. Sirajul Haq, the Head of Jamaat-e-Islami, said that all systems of government had been tested in the country, adding that “solution to all our problems lies in Nizam-i-Mustafa”. (Dawn, 14 Dec 2017)
Comment:
The MMA was first formed before the 2002 elections. It was an alliance of the major religious parties in Pakistan. This alliance secured 53 seats in National assembly and became third largest party, after Musharraf led Pakistan Muslims League-Q, (PML-Q), and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). The MMA formed the provisional government of Khyber–Pakhtunkhwa province, which at that time it was known as NWFP, and remained in alliance with PML-Q in Balochistan.
The success of the MMA raised hopes of the Muslims of Pakistan that at least in NWFP, now Khyber–Pakhtunkhwa, will implement Islam and that they will pose real challenge to US occupation in Afghanistan by not allowing NATO supply line through NWFP. However, on both accounts the MMA failed miserably. The MMA’s provincial government introduced the “Hasba Bill”, widely-known as the Shariah implementation bill, which was struck down by the Supreme Court of Pakistan and was declared as unconstitutional. Similarly, the MMA provincial government did not take any concreate steps to block the NATO supply line. Instead, it consistently gave excuses for inaction. It also failed in countering several changes that Musharraf’s regime made to increase liberalization in the country. It severely hurt the reputation of MMA as the champion of a few Islamic injunctions in the constitution. So, the MMA failed to maintain an electoral alliance in the 2008. Are constituent parties participating in the elections under their own separate party symbols, and could not secure the number of seats they secured after the 2002 elections?
Now that the MMA has been revived, its leaders are declaring the current system as a failure, promising to end the secular system and establish an Islamic system. However, this objective cannot be achieved by adopting a method other than that followed by our beloved Prophet (saw). Establishing the Islamic rule mandates rejection of participation in any form of governance that rules by non-Islam. This is clear from the example of RasulAllah (saw) in Makkah. RasulAllah (saw) exposed the falsehood of Kufr and its corruption in every field of life. He (saw) built public opinion against the Kufr system and in favor of Islam. He (saw) asked for Nussrah from the people of power. So, at last RasulAllah (saw) succeeded in preparing public opinion in Madinah in favor of Islam. Its people of power gave Nussrah to him (saw) to establish Islam. In this way, RasulAllah (saw) established first Islamic state in Madinah. Any attempt to establish an Islamic State other than the method of RasulAllah (saw) will fail. Not only does the participation in the kufr system anger Allah (swt), it is destined to fail, as was clearly seen in the previous MMA attempt.
Muslims must pay heed to the saying of RasulAllah (saw) that, «لاَ يُلْدَغُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مِنْ جُحْرٍ وَاحِدٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ» “A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice.” (Bukhari/ Muslim). Therefore, all Muslims who love Islam, including those in the MMA, must work to abolish Democracy, exposing its deviation from Islam in every field of life, from ruling to economy, from judiciary to foreign policy and from education to social system. And all Muslims, who fear Allah (swt), alone must strive with Hizb ut Tahrir for the re-establishment of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood.
