The Islamic Aqeedah should be the Basis of our “Military” Actions

The Saudi military coalition – which receives logistical support, weapons and political backing from the US and UK – has been accused of killing hundreds of children in Yemen, according to a confidential UN report.

The report, which has yet to be made public and could still be changed, says that 51 per cent of all child deaths and injuries in Yemen last year were the result of the Saudi-led military operation. It says the deaths were “unacceptably high”. Saudi Arabia has insisted it is operating within international law. [The Independent]

When reading the above article there are so many comments which can be made from an Islamic point of view to highlight the great injustices of this war.

But let’s start with the last sentence of the above introduction where Saudi Arabia insists: “it is operating within international law”, when confronted with the high percentage of child deaths through its military operation. With this answer Saudi Arabia once again blatantly shows the Islamic world that it clearly isn’t an Islamic state which has the interest of the Ummah at heart. A country which bases its constitution, laws, structure, foreign relations on the basis of the Islamic Aqeedah and that solves its problems on this basis. For the few who might still be dubious with this issue.

We should ask ourselves the question whether Saudi Arabia should be judging the great loss of innocent Muslim blood by “international law” or by the rules set by Allah (swt).

If Saudi Arabia truly was a country which ruled by Islam and which had the interest of the Ummah at heart wouldn’t the following Islamic texts weigh so much heavier than “international law”.

“And whosoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein forever, and the Wrath of Allah is upon him, and His curse; prepared for him is a grievous torment” [al-Nisaa’: 93] .

«لزوال الدنيا أهون على الله من قتل رجل مسلم»

“The destruction of the world is lighter on Allah than the killing of one Muslim man” (Tirmidhi).

With the statement, “it is operating within international law”, it is letting the Ummah clearly know that it bases its decisions with the interest of others at heart and that good foreign relations in this case with the US and UK who have profited greatly with their logistical and weapons support are much more important to them then the lives of innocent children.

Britain alone has sold around $3.8bn of weapons to Saudi Arabia over the past two years and is its biggest supplies of arms. And US President Donald Trump claimed after he visited Saudi Arabia in May this year, that he had “a tremendous day, with tremendous investments for the United States,” he said. “Hundreds of billions of dollars of investments into the United States and jobs, jobs, jobs.”

Once again the Islamic rulers in this case Prince bin Salman has revealed his submissiveness to his true masters which have only changed superficially since the times of colonial occupation. It should further tell the Ummah that any decisions made by any current Muslim leaders aren't ever going to be in the interest of the Ummah as long as these decisions aren’t based on the Islamic Aqeedah and that if we as an Ummah truly care for the children of Yemen we should speak out and expose the Muslims leaders for what they are, mere puppets of their colonial masters.
