Medina Explosion: Suicide Bombing near A Holy Site

BBC.CO.UK 5th July, 2016 - A suicide bomber has killed four security officers and injured five others near one of Islam's holiest sites in the Saudi city of Medina, according to the interior ministry.

The bomber detonated his explosives after being stopped outside the Prophet's Mosque, a statement said.

The mosque is the burial place of the Prophet Muhammad and Medina the holiest city in Islam after Mecca. Suicide blasts also struck two other Saudi cities on Monday.

The fact that an attack happened in Medina at such a place is likely to leave Muslims around the world aghast, BBC World Service's Middle East editor, Alan Johnston, says. Suspicion is likely to fall on so-called Islamic State (IS), he adds.

Al-Arabiya gave a different account of the incident, saying the bomber had targeted the security officers by pretending he wanted to break his Ramadan fast with them. Qari Ziyaad Patel, 36, from South Africa, who was in the mosque, told the Associated Press news agency people had at first thought it was the sound of the cannon fire that marks the breaking of fast.

The ground shook, he said, adding: "The vibrations were very strong. It sounded like a building imploded."

Earlier, at least one explosion rocked Qatif, an eastern city which is home to many minority Shia Muslims. The blast appeared to target a Shia mosque. The attacker was killed but no other casualties were reported.

Comment

How is the killing of Believers, in the holy city of Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam during the holy month of Ramadhan an action from Islam? This atrocity could only gladden the hearts of the enemies of Islam.

There can be no justification when the Guidance from Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw) clearly forbids this. Allah (swt) commands:

(‎وَمَنْ يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَاؤُهُ جَهَنَّمُ خَالِدًا فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَعَنَهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُ عَذَابًا عَظِيمًا)

“And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him.” [TMQ 4:93]

Blood of a Muslim is more precious to Allah than Ka’abah and all it’s surroundings. It is reported that Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al As said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah (saw) performing tawaf around the Holy Ka'ba saying to it:

«مَا أَطْيَبَكِ وَأَطْيَبَ رِيحَكِ مَا أَعْظَمَكِ وَأَعْظَمَ حُرْمَتَكِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَحُرْمَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ أَعْظَمُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ حُرْمَةً مِنْكِ مَالِهِ وَدَمِهِ وَأَنْ نَظُنَّ بِهِ إِلَّا خَيْرًا»

‘How pure and good you are! how pure and good your fragrance is! how great and exalted you are! and how great and exalted your sanctity is! But by Him in Whose hand is Muhammad’s soul, the sanctity of a believer’s blood and property in the sight of Allah is greater than your sanctity!’”

Rasulullah (saw) also said,

«لزوال الدنيا أهون عند الله من قتل مؤمن بغير حق»

“The destruction of the world is lighter on Allah than the killing of one Muslim man.” [Tirmidhi]

Nor should a Muslim harm another Muslim, Rasulullah (saw) warned,

«سِبَابُ الْمُسْلِم فُسُوقٌ وَقِتالُهُ كُفْرٌ»

“Abusing the Muslim is an aggression and fighting him is disbelief.” [Bukhari and Muslim]

Allah (swt) sent His most beloved Rasulullah (saw) mankind, and he and the Sahabah (ra) showed us in detail how a society and the world should be transformed. Rasulullah (saw) did not use material means to force Islam upon the people of Madinah.

He sent the Sahabah (ra) to invite and culture the people of Madinah, till every single household had heard of Islam and the tribes of Aus and Khazraj who initially pledged their allegiance to Allah and His Messenger (saw), subsequently pledged to implement and defend Islam against all who would do it harm.

From that moment, Islam spread far and wide across the world. After Rasulullah (saw), Sahabah after Sahabah (ra) carried the rule as Khulafa’ (caliphs) one after another until the enemies of Islam broke the chain on the 3rd March 1924.

Just as the break was prophesied by Rasulullah (saw) so was the return of the TRUE Khilafah "Caliphate" on the Minhaaj (methodology) of the Prophethood. Ahmed in his Musnad, from Al-Nu’man b. Bashir, who said: “We were sitting in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah (saw), and Bashir was a man who did not speak much, so Abu Tha’labah Al-Khashnee came and said: ‘Oh, Bashir bin Sa’ad, have you memorised the words of the Messenger of Allah (saw) regarding the rulers?’ Huthayfah replied, ‘I have memorised his words’. So Abu Tha’labah sat down and Huthayfah said, ‘The Messenger of Allah (saw) said

«تكون النبوة فيكم ما شاء الله أن تكون، ثم يرفعها الله إذا شاء أن يرفعها، ثم تكون خلافة على منهاج النبوة فتكون ما شاء الله أن تكون، ثم يرفعها الله إذا شاء أن يرفعها، ثم تكون ملكًا عاضًا فيكون ما شاء الله أن يكون، ثم يرفعها إذا شاء الله أن يرفعها، ثم تكون ملكًا جبرية فتكون ما شاء الله أن تكون، ثم يرفعها الله إذا شاء أن يرفعها، ثم تكون خلافة على منهاج النبوة، ثم سكت»

‘Prophethood will be amongst you whatever Allah wishes it to be, then He will lift it up if He wished to lift it up. Then there will be a Khilafah "Caliphate" on the way of the Prophet, and it will be whatever Allah wishes it to be, then He will lift it up if Allah wished to lift it up. Then there will be an inheritance rule, and it will be whatever Allah wishes it to be, then He will lift it up if He wished to lift it up. Then there will be a coercive rule, and it will be whatever Allah wishes it to be, then He will lift it up if He wished to lift it up. Then there will be a Khilafah "Caliphate" on the way of Prophethood.’ Then he was silent.” [Rawahul Ahmad]

For the Believers of Islam, for those who long for the Redha of Allah and love Muhammad (saw) sincerely, there is no other way or method to re-establish Islam other than the way, the minhaaj of Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam. May Allah hasten the day, when we as believers all over the world, return as ONE Brotherhood, ONE Ummah under the benevolence of Islam and remove the violence, violations and humiliation of fitnah and misguidance.
