1000 Problems, Only One Solution
28 Rajab 1342 AH is the date when the abolition of the Khilafah was announced. A look around is enough to see the miseries of the Muslim Ummah, but to understand the cause of this state, we need to review not just how the West came in, but also of why did we let them in. Be it negligence of the rulers, the innocent hope of catching up on newly developed technology of the West, getting rid of the debts or forgetting the actual cause of ruling the world and deviating from the path of Islam, each area needs to be thoroughly understood so that we do not fall prey to the same old disease.
The Islamic system believes in centrality of power, and that power belongs to Allah from the tawaf-e-Kabbah to raising the flag of Islam above all flags. Democracy gives the sovereignty to the people. Compromises made by the people of power in the name of survival are costing the lives and honour of innocent Muslims. The ongoing massacres of Muslims in Syria, Gaza, Afghanistan, Burma, Kashmir and Yemen are being depicted as inner national conflicts. Such conflicts never existed till colonialists invaded these lands and the democratic system was given a green signal by the corrupt authorities. The Ummah, which blindly believed in the knowledge and wisdom of these authorities, could never imagine that they were embracing death and dishonour by accepting these reforms. Today, further reforms are being applied like the recent ones in Saudi Arabia by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, who is hurriedly taking decisions to modernise and following the footsteps of all those who tried to change their country’s system in the hope of winning the favour of the West. Intellectual corruption, first inflicted and later adopted, became the primary cause of decline and remains the primary hindrance in revival.
As Europe started enjoying the glory of the Industrial Revolution, Muslims fell behind and in this panic they started losing wars and along with it, they lost their confidence. Hoping for military progress, they started adopting the capitalist system and the Muslim countries that were once each other’s support turned into enemies by adopting nationalism. Today, we see countries like Pakistan, Turkey, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia sitting with all the military powers, not batting an eye on the slaughter of Muslims across their borders. Has ‘Wahan’ taken over their hearts? The only fear that suits a Muslim’s heart is the fear of Allah. These crises demand a military solution, and now with all the warfare developed, this Ummah needs Khilafah that will restore courage in the hearts of Muslims, and what better place courage can have. Nation states, with their own national languages, lost their connection with Arabic and so the connection with the Quran weakened. It is the establishment of the Islamic State that will bring back Islam in the life affairs and relationships of Muslims. Understanding that for Muslims economic strength, area control and knowledge have different meanings than they have for capitalists. The time has come to think and act as a Muslim must in order to understand and act according to the purpose of our being and to eradicate our pain and the pain of our brothers and sisters and work not to die the death of ‘Jahiliya’.
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
«وَمَنْ مَاتَ وَلَيْسَ فِي عُنُقِهِ بَيْعَةٌ، مَاتَ مِيتَةً جَاهِلِيَّةً»
“And he who dies without an imam for the group ruling over him, his death is a death of jahilyyah.”
