The Delegation of Hizb ut Tahrir in Ukraine Visited the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kyiv
On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, a delegation of Hizb ut Tahrir in Ukraine, consisting of three people, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kyiv.
This visit was part of a worldwide campaign organized by the Central Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir entitled “O Ummah, A Plea from Uzbekistan’s Prisoners of Conscience." The purpose of the visit was to present an open letter from Hizb ut Tahrir to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mizriyoyev.
The delegation was welcomed by an embassy representative named Ali, who nevertheless refused to give his name or position.
The head of the delegation handed over to the embassy representative a “Letter to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev”, as well as a press release issued by the Central Media Office entitled “The Mirziyoyev Regime in Uzbekistan Follows in the Footsteps of the Perished Karimov, in Persecuting the Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir and Confronting Islam.” Both documents were handed in several languages: Uzbek, Arabic and Ukrainian.
The embassy representative was also explained the brief content of this message, which is as follows:
Uzbek security services arrested 23 members of Hizb ut Tahrir. On May 9 this year, the court presented the detainees with the same charges on which they were tried during the time of the deceased tyrant Karimov in 1999-2000, when they received 20 years in prison, during which they were subjected to torture.
Just like 20 years ago, those arrested were tortured and forced to confess to the charges fabricated against them. They put bags over their heads and exerted psychological pressure. In order to force them to sign a pre-prepared indictment, the special services tortured them with electric shocks, threatened to rape the detainees' wifes, prosecute the son of one of the detainees, who is studying abroad, etc.
In addition to this group of 23 people, 16 more people from the Tashkent, Andijan, Samarkand, Kashkadarya and Khorezm regions were also detained and brought to Tashkent, where an investigation was launched against them on charges of terrorism.
Accusations of violence and terrorism against members of Hizb ut Tahrir are obviously slander and lies. The Party and its members have never resorted to such things since its founding in 1953.
The message ends with a demand to immediately exclude the political party Hizb ut Tahrir from the official list of extremist and terrorist organizations of Uzbekistan, as well as to immediately stop any forms of prosecution in all criminal cases involving members of the party.
After listening to the message of the Hizb ut Tahrir delegation, the representative of the Uzbek embassy assured that he would definitely convey what he heard and the documents received to the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ukraine, for further transfer to the office of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
After this, the delegation left the embassy premises.
We ask Allah to free from the hands of tyrants all members of Hizb ut Tahrir and other innocent Muslims, whether in Uzbekistan or other countries of the Islamic and non-Islamic world. We also ask that Allah establish the Second Righteous Caliphate through the method of Prophethood which will guarantee the end of the persecution of all Muslims, including the bearers of the call, throughout the world. Allahuma Ameen.
