Elections are a Means to Perpetuate a Secular System that must be Changed by Establishing the Khilafah

Since the outbreak of the Ummah’s revolution in Tunisia in late 2010, Hizb ut Tahrir has emphasized that the only civilizational project capable of making the revolution a success and achieving the demands of the revolutionaries lies in overthrowing the secular regime and replacing it with a just political system, and this can only be done through Islam, under one state; the state of the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly-Guided Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood.

Hizb ut Tahrir has confronted the colonialism’s attempts to reproduce the same regime through elections that have been held since the country’s independence under the umbrella of a man-made constitution that separates religion from life. Hizb ut Tahrir has warned against the entire path that the Western crusader colonialism has outlined for the revolution, including recycling the fallen regime by enacting a hybrid, participatory secular constitution that produces nothing, but puppets controlled by the western countries, who guard their interests and legislative system and distract the nation from a productive change based on Islam.

Therefore, despite the slogans circulating today about fighting corruption, liberating the country, and restoring the decision, the upcoming presidential elections on October 6, 2024 are nothing more than a play whose cast are the political milieu, i.e. the rulers and opposition, and the director is the Western crusader colonialism. Hence, we in Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Tunisia reaffirm the following facts:

1-  When the people revolted, they revolted against everyone responsible for their tragedies caused by the West, its agents, and the man-made constitutional regimes that doesn’t rule by what Allah has revealed, and by that, the people do not want chaos, but rather want a comprehensive and radical change based on their Islamic identity. This will not happen through elections under the umbrella of secularism, but rather through real elections whose umbrella is the Qur’an and Sunnah, the sole constitution for Muslims.

2-  The ruling regimes in Islamic countries has originated from the West, and its continuity is the hands of the Western countries, because these regimes are only guarantee for the West to perpetuate their colonialism and domination over Muslims.

3-  In every election, these regimes launch conflicts to distract people from the great project of Islam, and for which lives are wasted and generations of Muslims are destroyed. These battles are being directed and controlled by the Western embassies, and are governed by the global and regional powers, thus the outcome of the elections is merely a cover for the decision-making process to give it the legitimacy of the sovereign decision.

4-  It has become clear that the true forces of the nation in the Islamic countries must move to liberate their will. Despite the vitality and steadfastness of the popular movement, the regime cannot be overthrown, and the country cannot be liberated from political subordination to the West except by the people of power aligning with their people, so that the conflict is resolved in favor of the nation, so that it is freed and liberated from the Western enslavement and domination.

5-  The renaissance of nations is not achieved by changing a ruler or amending a constitution, but rather lies in overthrowing the entire regime with all its intellectual, cultural and legal forms. This is the only way to break the shackles of the colonial West, and then unite on the basis of the clear political project derived from the Quran and the Sunnah as presented by Hizb ut Tahrir, and to move forward with Hizb ut Tahrir and its political leadership towards pleasing Allah Almighty, and achieving the interest of the Ummah and its happiness in this life and the Afterlife; by establishing the state of the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly-Guided Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood.
