Hizb ut Tahrir / Tanzania Condemns Abduction and Killing of Muhammad Ali Kibao

Hizb ut Tahrir / Tanzania sincerely extends condolences and console family and relatives of slain Chadema official Muhammad Ali Kibao who was abducted on September 6, 2024, and subsequently killed.

We also denounce his abduction and brutal killing in the strongest terms, then we would like to say the following:

1. Kidnappings leading to be missed or being brutal killings are not new incidents in Tanzania, they have been happening for some times whereby the biggest victims of such atrocious incidents are Muslims for their Islam. For instance, there are more than 380 victims missing in districts of coast region of Mkuranga, Kibiti and Rufiji following the government crackdown in 2017 characterised by torture and extrajudicial killings” (The East African, May, 2018)

2. Such incidents not only bring a sense of fear, insecurity to the citizens, tarnish and discredit the state image, but is also a manifestation of state irresponsibility since the state is the main guarantor and protector of people's lives, properties and their dignity.

3. This incident vividly indicates the failure of the capitalist democratic ideology all over the world by which created havoc, violence and insecurity to humankind.

Thus, the world needs a system of justice and fairness which is Islam that would protect citizens, their lives, property, and integrity, etc.
