During the recently finished election in Sweden, some media published news concerning the activities of Hizb ut Tahrir, and spread wrong information. In the best case, it is due to deficient or insincere research and in worst case, it must be considered as manipulation and lies. For this reason, Hizb ut Tahrir Scandinavia held a press meeting in Stockholm on Friday the 19/9/2014.

Important and central issues were clarified at the meeting, such as the Islamic position on participation in secular democratic elections, the role of the Muslims in the West in general, the role of Hizb ut Tahrir in the West in particular, our view on the development in Iraq and Syria and other issues.

In recent times, there have been different attempts to interrupt our work in Sweden.  Among others the late cancelation of rented facilities, for instance regarding this particular meeting, where the pretexts for the cancelation was, that they do not rent out facilities to anti- democrats.  When liberal democrats, in this way try to prevent people with another mindset from speaking their cause, it is just another confirmation of the fact that western freedom rights are hollow ideas that are stepped upon every time it is politically convenient. There have also been attempts to physically force and threaten our members to stop their activities on public squares and streets.

To all those who think that they can force or threaten or in any other manor prevent the truth from reaching people, you should know, that you have already lost.

We have been working and still work under a lot more difficult circumstances around the world, and we are driven by a motivation that cannot be broken. We are, at any time, open for factual debate, and in contradiction to our opponents we do not have to resort to manipulation, pressure and force. We carry the truth, which has come as a savior and guidance to all of mankind, and we will continue to convey it to people in disregard to consequences.
