O Youth of the Best Nation Raised for People
Your Place is not in Film Festivals
(Translated)

The activities of the Khartoum Arab Film Festival, in its second round, was opened in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, on Friday lasting for five days, through which about 34 films will be shown. The Minister of State at the Sudanese Ministry of Culture, Syed Harun, said that the aim of the festival is to move the recession that hit the film industry; which was developed, adding that the state is interested in developing the film industry, through gathering all those young people who work in the film sector, with the aim of promoting the film industry in Sudan. While the body remains of the Islamic Ummah are scattered due to wars, conspiracies and disgraceful crimes, and the Ummah sinks into poverty, ignorance and backwardness, the news present us with film festivals, sponsored by this Government of damage, to distract youth from the right direction, as a service to the projects of the enemy, by using the energies of youth.

What type of misleading is this exerted on the best nation raised for people, occupying its youth in trivial things, whilst it is in dire need of the energies of its youths to revive it, and salvage it from what inflicts it because of governments which do not spare effort to distance the youth, who are the instrument of change, from their vital issues! Since the youth of any nation, are of course, the spine; which is the element of movement and vitality; as they have the productive energy, and renewable bestowal. And no nation has revived, but on the shoulders of its youth, through their awareness, and renewed enthusiasm, for that reason it is organized for them festivals of distraction!

And instead of instilling the legacies of the youth of Islam, who gave victory to the Prophet (saw), by invoking the legacy of the nobles; who their names are written from the ink of light, this is substituted today with the conduct of the abusers; actors, singers, and their likes, from time to time in all the Muslim countries, with huge amounts of money and big effort is spent on them.

The state’s patronage for such absurd festivals aims, without a doubt, is to waste the energies of the youth, indulge them in lusts, and to highlight bad role models for them, through the media, and the development of the film industry; that violates explicit legitimate rules (Ahkam Shar’iyah); such as mixing, Tabaruj, and meeting for reasons other than a need that is permitted by the Shar’a, let alone the work material itself that depicts the Western life style.

So O youth of the Ummah, it is time for you to prove your ability to reveal the policies of deception and deliberate distraction, and not to follow or respond to them, for your place is not in film festivals as the misguided governments want... and your message is not the same as the message of other youth... for you have a greater and more superior obligation.... You hold a great message that you are commanded to convey and spread. And that your pride, glory and salvation is in implementing that eternal message through the establishment of the Deen, with all its systems in the State of Islam, and carry it a lifeline for the entire world.

﴿لِمِثْلِ هَٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ الْعَامِلُونَ﴾
