Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan Delegation
Visits Al-Takamul and Al-Sinaii Quarters that were Entirely Forcibly Removed
(Translated)
A delegation headed by Deputy to the Official Spokesman of Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Sudan; Ustaath Muhammad Jameh (Abu Ayman), accompanied by Brothers Othman Harun and Adel Mohammed Khair, who are both members of Hizb ut Tahrir, visited the residents of Al-Sinaii (Industrial) and Al-Takamul (Integrated) quarters; that were forcibly removed. Where the delegation discussed the suffering of the people after the demolition and crushing of their homes and properties, which has become desolation inside the rubble. The delegation saw the remnants of refrigerators, televisions, and wrecked bedrooms, which are still under the rubble, and the remnants of torn personal documents belonging to the families. Students’ pamphlets and their books were nearly undistinguishable from the dirt and mud after the rains. The residents even talked, with heart-wrenching pain, about the rude, repulsive, and cruelty manner the officials dealt with them, on the day of demolition, who did not heed their young children, nor the elderly or the disabled. Rather the committee member of Al-Sinaii quarter, Hamid Shafie, said he was astonished by the chiefs (Khawajat) of the church in Al-Takamul quarter who came out when it rained on Saturday, and took children, women and elders, sheltered them within the high Church walls, and fed them until rain stopped.
Residents said that the way they were treated was similar to the way the Jews treated the Palestinians during home demolitions in occupied Palestine (as described by the people), even though the Jews warn people before demolition, leading the people to say does the Sudanese government really represent Islam after such abuse?!
Members of the delegation were overcome with tears, as they were visiting the afflicted families, especially the family of Abdul-Jabbar, a child who was burned by a clothes iron, when the demolition tragedy took place, his right thigh was burnt. As well as a child called Azraq (in kindergarten) and his brothers, who were forced by the heat of the sun to build a small hut from rubble and debris that cannot accommodate more than their small meager bodies, to protect them from the sweltering sun. Also, a disabled girl who went missing on the day of demolition, and her family thought she was still under the rubble. And they talked about children’s spasms, when they fired tear gas at them. And the really painful tragedy is that Sister Hanadi Khadr aborted her baby in her ninth month of pregnancy, when she was trying, despite of her pregnancy, to save what she could of her property, and is now in laying in Ibrahim Malik hospital, suffering from bleeding, and is between life and death!
Scenes and images of pain and suffering, witnessed by the delegation, where the State cut their water and electricity supply, and demolished their sanitary places.
Faced with this situation the bereaved people of the quarters poured the delegation with questions, asking: what is our fault? And who are these people who removed our houses, we are here from a long time ago. Why do they treat us with this hostility and cruelty? Why do they want to give our land to others who are human beings just like us? Is it just because they pay more? We were born here… grew up here, and these homes are our homes, so why is all this suffering?
The strange thing is that the demolition was done to confiscate the land from our vanquished people, and deliver it to others who pay more!
Although the state can plan these lands, if the problem was in the planning, even though they have water and electricity service, and this denies that they are squatters, but no doubt that there are others whose interests conflict with the presence of these people in these areas!
This is the suffering of these oppressed people!
We in Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan, warn the government of the supplication of the oppressed; for there is no screen between their duaa and Allah. And we hold the government responsible for what happened to them. Islam has ordered the rulers to treat gently those who they rule their affairs and to be attentive to them while under their guardianship. The delegation has warned from oppressing and harassing them. Sayyida Aisha (ra) said I heard from the Messenger of Allah (saw), saying in my house this:
«اللهُمَّ، مَنْ وَلِيَ مِنْ أَمْرِ أُمَّتِي شَيْئًا فَشَقَّ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَاشْقُقْ عَلَيْهِ، وَمَنْ وَلِيَ مِنْ أَمْرِ أُمَّتِي شَيْئًا فَرَفَقَ بِهِمْ، فَارْفُقْ بِهِ»
“O Allah if a guardian is in charge of a matter of my Ummah and makes it difficult for them, then make matters difficult for him, and if a guardian is in charge of a matter of my Ummah and makes it easy for them, then make matters easy for him”. (Narrated by Muslim)
At the end of the visit, the delegation asked the affected residents tohave patience for their adversity, and to be thankful for their Divine destiny, and commanded them to follow all the legitimate available means, to claim their rights on the basis of Islam. The residents both women and men, praised the interest of Hizb ut Tahrir brothers with their issues, and for their honest and sincere feelings for their suffering. They thanked the delegation for the visit, and the promise to communicate with them until Allah passes this pre-destined matter, and He is over all things competent.
