Press Release
No member of Hizb ut Tahrir was Arrested from Outside the Parliament House Secret Services Make Another Failed Attempt to Link Hizb ut Tahrir with Militancy
The secret agencies of Pakistan make another failed attempt to link the world's largest political party, Hizb ut Tahrir, with militancy and terrorism. Hizb ut Tahrir denies the report published in two Urdu newspapers according to which police arrested a member of Hizb ut Tahrir from a protest held outside the Parliament House and recovered uniforms of the security services from his possession. The concocted story was released by a previously unheard of news agency, which was not considered worthy of printing by any other significant newspaper except the two Urdu newspapers. Pakistani as well as the world media knows fwell that in its entire struggle of more than fifty years there has been not a single evidence to link Hizb ut Tahrir with violence. Hizb considers militancy as a method to establish the Kilafah a violation of shari'ah because the Messenger of Allah (saaw) only resorted to intellectual and political struggle and seeking of Nussrah in his thirteen years of struggle in Makkah and explicitly stopped Sahaba in engaging in militancy. Hizb's non-violent political struggle is so well established throughout the world to an extent that even the global Human's Rights organizations acknowledge it non-militant struggle, such as the Human Rights Watch among others. We demand from both the relevant newspapers to print our denial on the same page and place where they had printed the concocted story. We would like to remind the media that they should be careful about the false stories pushed by the government agencies and they should play their positive role in the quest to establish Islam and unify the Ummah. Indeed, the journalists, like any other Muslim, will be called to question on the Day of Judgment about their role in the establishment of Islam and unification of the Ummah.
