Free Naveed Butt, Advocate of Khilafah "Caliphate", Abducted on 11 May 2012, for Raising his Voice against Tyrants

As part of a series highlighting the personalities of Hizb ut Tahrir who are being persecuted by the regime, we present the case of Naveed Butt.

Naveed Butt is now 47 years old, he is an engineer and married with four children. He was abducted on 11 May 2012 by security agencies and remains in abduction nearly four years later.

Naveed Butt is from a prominent and well-respected Kashmiri family resident in Islamabad. He won a place in the prestigious University of Engineering in Lahore and due to his excellent progress was able to transfer to the University of Illinois in Chicago, US to graduate. He worked for Motorola as a well-paid engineer before deciding to return to Pakistan to pursue the work to restore the Khilafah "Caliphate" in Muslim lands.

Naveed Butt is the Official Spokesman of Hizb ut Tahrir. He has penned hundreds of press releases which exposed the slavery of the rulers to America and their treachery to Islam and Muslims. He has traveled the length and breadth of Pakistan addressing the people regarding the Khilafah "Caliphate" and its obligation from Islam and its detailed structure.

Naveed Butt was abducted because he was one of the most prominent critics of the Pakistani regime. His abduction followed a powerful accountability campaign against the Pakistani regime for its subservience to America, after the release of the American spy, Raymond Davis, and the attack on Abbottabad by US military forces. Naveed led Hizb ut Tahrir's campaign from the front, strongly criticizing the collaboration of traitors in Pakistan’s civil and military leadership with America.

At a time when Pakistan’s current rulers are following the footsteps of the Quraysh tyrants by ruling through force and fear, advocates of the Khilafah "Caliphate" (Caliphate) like Naveed Butt are a source of inspiration for Muslims who believe in the words of their Prophet:
