 Press Release
A Tyranny has Passed but is Not the End...Not until the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger are Established

A momentous history has taken place in this country when Barisan Nasional (BN), which had ruled the country for more than 60 years, lost the 14th General Election (GE-14) last Thursday. BN won only 79 out of 222 contested parliamentary seats while Pakatan Harapan (PH), which is represented by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) won 113 seats. The rest of the seats are won by Parti Islam Se Malaysia (PAS) with 18 seats, Parti Warisan Sabah 8 seats, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku 1 seat and independent representatives 3 seats. History was also created when PH was able to capture Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka which are the main fortresses of BN since ages. Other states that have been dominated by PH are Selangor, Perak, Kedah and Penang. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed has also created a history when he sworn in as the Prime Minister for a second time at the age of 92 years old.

To date, the political atmosphere of the country is yet to be stabilized, let alone with the announcement by Dr. Mahathir that the King (Yang Dipertuan Agong) has agreed to grant a Royal pardon to Anwar Ibrahim which will lead to the immediate release of the said former Deputy Prime Minister. This will subsequently open the way for him to replace Mahathir should everything runs as planned.

In this heated political atmosphere, Hizb ut Tahrir / Malaysia would like to remind:

(1) The former ruling party - We had repeatedly reminded you that Allah (swt) is All Powerful to easily take away your power at any time. We had reminded you of this, of your obligation to implement Allah (swt) laws comprehensively, but you were arrogant and never listened, even a touch, to our advice. Even more, you were unjust to the people and to Hizb ut Tahrir as you wished. Now, Allah (swt) has taken away your power through the hands of the people that you wronged over the years. You have forgotten Allah (swt) in this world and certainly Allah (swt) will forget you in the Hereafter.

You have now received your "punishment" in this world, and a heavier punishment awaits you in the Hereafter if you do not repent. You should also realize that the Malay-racism struggle that you espouse has been rejected by the majority of the people, and more importantly you should take heed that racism is forbidden and is rejected by Islam;

(2) The new ruling party - People has chosen you and you are in the throne of power by Allah’s (swt) will. Our first and foremost advice to you is that you must remember Allah (swt) and never forget Him in ruling the country! Do not be arrogant, greedy and unjust as the previous regime. You have witnessed how Allah (swt) snatched the power of the previous regime right in front of your own eyes. Indeed, this is very easy for Allah (swt). Hence, you should always remember that it is easy for Allah (swt) to take away the power He bestowed upon you. Remember that this power is a trust and Allah (swt) in the Hereafter will certainly hold you responsible.

What does this trust mean? It is a trust to rule with what Allah (swt) has revealed! You are obliged to dispose of all the systems and laws inherited from the past colonial and replace it with the laws from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger. We hereby remind you that you are obliged to implement Islam comprehensively. Although we are convinced that you will not carry this out, we still remind you of this obligation so that we can answer to Allah (swt) in the hereafter. Indeed, this trust carries a huge burden and would certainly cause considerable regret for those who neglected it.

(3) The Islamic party that had contested in the elections - Account yourselves as to why your Islamic struggles are rejected by the people and do not be proud of the small limited victory. Indeed, there is nothing to be proud of when the laws of Allah (swt) are not implemented. You may have won some seats but the fact remains that Islam did not win. We have repeatedly reminded you and we will continue to remind you that political struggle within the unbelieving Western democratic system will never bring Islam to victory. This is because democracy is not designed to allow Islam to be victorious but was designed by the West to prevent the establishment of Islam.

(4) Those who sincerely wish victory for Islam – There are among you those who do not want to see non-Muslims be given power in the Parliament. It is unfortunate that you do not see that by default, democracy itself which allows non-Muslims to be in Parliament! Even the Islamic party itself placed the infidel candidates to go to the Parliament! Thus, how can we expect Islam to be fully implemented when the system itself allows non-Muslims to be in power! Know that Islam will never be victorious within the framework of the democratic system.

Furthermore, even if the entire Parliament is dominated by Muslims, it is still meaningless for the rights of Allah (swt) as the Law Maker is usurped by them.
O Muslims! What you showed in GE-14 are clear signs that you want change after living in oppression under an unjust leadership of the country since a long time. Take notice that injustice ensues when the law of Allah (swt) is not implemented. Allah (swt) says

(وَمَنْ لَمْ يَحْكُمْ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ)

“And those who do not rule according to what Allah has revealed, then they the unjust” [Al-Ma’idah: 45].

Therefore, anyone who rules the country and does not rule with what Allah (swt) had revealed; then they are indeed the oppressor and rules with tyranny. Tyranny will truly disappear when the law of Allah (swt) is implemented entirely. As long as the system and laws of the country is not changed from democracy-secularism to Islam, then there will always be injustice and tyranny although we may not feel it. True justice will only be achieved when we live under the shades of the Shariah and Shariah can only be fully realized with the existence of the Islamic State (Caliphate). The fall of BN, the arrogant and greedy oppressor after all these years, signals the passing of a tyrannical era. Nevertheless, do remember that this is far from the end, because tyranny shall truly disappear only when the country is ruled by a Khalifah (Caliph) with the Book of Allah (swt) and the Sunnah of His Messenger.
