THE BANGLADESHI HIGH COMMISSION IN KENYA COWARDLY REFUSES TO RECEIVE Hizb ut Tahrir EAST AFRICAS' DELEGATION
The Bangladesh High Commission in Nairobi refused to receive the delegation of the Islamic party of Hizb ut Tahrir East Africa which had visited its offices on Thursday 6th Oct 2011. One of the guards at the embassy by the name of Chaka told the delegation that the High Commissioner and staff were on holiday and he declined to state when they are expected to resume. The delegation then asked him if they can leave the special letter which he would hand over to the High Commissioner but he refused claiming that it is contrary to the precepts of his job; he further stressed that he is not authorized to do so!
For us in the Hizb, we are not surprised by the move of the embassy as this has been the norm of any oppressive and despotic regime oppressing its own citizens as a sign of its cowardice when faced publicly by devoted da'wah carriers of Islam, a proof that these despotic rulers have no sound argument to back their injustices! The Hizb delegation indeed had an objective of appealing the Bangladeshi High Commissioner to realize that the brutality committed by his government against Hizb ut Tahrir activists in Bangladesh is totally contrary to the values of Islam which is the faith of the overwhelming majority of Bengali citizens and even contrary to so-called "human rights" which the Bangladesh government claims to protect. So the delegation's simple message was to urge him to stand up and press his government to stop and refrain from such evils. Since February 2009 until now, Sheikh Hasinas' government has continued harassing and arresting the party's activists. Up until now hundreds of Hizb activists who have merely been bearing the truth have been imprisoned along with Hizb ut Tahrir's official spokesman in Bangladesh. Among the heinous torture committed by special police forces known as RAB and Task Force Interrogation (TFI) is that the party members undergo which the wild animals should not even taste namely hanging them upside down naked! On 13th August this year, the police launched a brutal attack and arrested 16 party members at a programme organized by the party at Muktangon Street in Dhaka.
The Islamic Party of Hizb ut Tahrir East Africa will always be in the frontline in opposing the heinous crimes committed by any corrupt regime against Muslim activists as this is regarded as one of the noble Islamic duties. Consequently, Hizb is always on frontline to oppose any violence against Muslims worldwide.
Finally we would like to urge all civil society groups claiming to fight for human rights that if they truly do so then it is incumbent upon them to stand firm and raise their voices at any violence committed against Muslims who carry the glorious message of Islam. And let any tyrant be aware that his day of reckoning is fast approaching!
