Press Release
The People of Palestine Do Not Need Your Condolences, But Rather Your Support
(Translated)
In its statement yesterday, 7/10/2023, Al-Azhar offered its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the martyrs of proud Palestine, who received martyrdom in order to defend their homeland and Ummah, our cause and their cause, the cause of the honourable people of the world, the Palestinian cause. The statement included praying to Allah to inspire the Palestinian people to persevere in the face of Zionist terrorism, calling on the civilized world and the international community to look with reason and wisdom at the longest occupation in modern history, the Zionist occupation of Palestine, and that this occupation is a mark of shame on humanity and the international community that applies double standards and knows nothing but double standards when it comes to the Palestinian issue.
O Scholars of Al-Azhar: The world to whom you are addressing does not apply double standards, rather it has one standard. It holds no weight for the Ummah of Islam at all, but rather its goal is to defeat it, enslave it, colonize its land, and plunder its resources. This international system is the true guarantor partner of the usurping entity that killed those whom you offer condolences to, that is, it is a partner in fighting and killing them, and before that, capturing them and occupying their land.
O Scholars of Al-Azhar: Your duty is to address the armies and incite them to support the people of Palestine, liberate their land, and uproot everything that hinders their movement and prevents them from supporting the oppressed.
O Scholars of Al-Azhar: Did you not hear the news of Amr bin Salim when he sought support from the Messenger of Allah (saw)? What did the Prophet (saw) do? Didn't he say to him, «نصرت يا عمرو بن سالم» “You have been granted support, Amr bin Salim”? Did he (saw) not go out with an army to conquer Makkah and support Khuza’ah, Amr bin Salim, and the oppressed in Makkah? Isn't this obligatory upon everyone who seeks support in the Deen? Didn’t the words of Allah (swt) reach you?
[وَإِنِ اسْتَنصَرُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ فَعَلَيْكُمُ النَّصْرُ]
“And if they seek help of you for the religion, then you must help” [Al-Anfal: 72]
Do you not know what Al-Mu'tasim did when one woman was captured by the Romans in Amuriyah sought support from him, and how he mobilized an army, conquered it, and achieved victory for the woman?! Have you not been informed of his (saw) saying, the Prophet (saw) said:
“No (Muslim) man will desert a man who is a Muslim in a place where his respect may be violated and his honour aspersed without Allah deserting him in a place here he wishes his help; and no (Muslim) man who will help a Muslim in a place where his honour may be aspersed and his respect violated without Allah helping him in a place where he wishes his help.”
Know that you have failed them and you failed your Ummah, and Allah will question you about them on the Day of Resurrection, and the Prophet will ask you about them, so be ready and prepare your answer.
O Loyal Ones in Al-Kinana Army: The address is to you before anyone else. You are the ones who have the power and ability to support and the ability to liberate the land of Islam and support the oppressed. Allah will ask you about them on the Day of Resurrection, and listen to the words of the Messenger of Allah (saw), as if he (saw) is addressing you
«مَنْ أُذِلَّ عِنْدَهُ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَمْ يَنْصُرْهُ وَهُوَ قَادِرٌ عَلَى أَنْ يَنْصُرَهُ أَذَلَّهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى رُؤُوسِ الْخَلَائِقِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
“Whoever sees a believer humiliated before him and does not support him even though he is able to support him, Allah Azza Wa Jal will humiliate him in front of the people on the Day of Resurrection”.
So, may Allah spare you from being humiliated on the Day of Reckoning, nor expose you in front of all creation. The rulers whom you obey and support will not benefit you, neither they nor the privileges they give you. By Allah, you and them will be thrown into the fire of Hell, and you will wish to ransom yourself with all of the world and what is in it out of regret, when regret is useless. So, remove these rulers and side with your Ummah and establish for it its state that supports it and achieve victory for it; the Khilafah Rashida (Rightly-Guided Caliphate) on the method of Prophethood. So, repeat the history of your ancestors, Amr bin Al-Aas, Salah ud-Din, and Al-Muzaffar Qutuz. Who is for there for Islam if not you, and who supports it other than you?! So, side with your Ummah and its issues, supporting it, liberating its sanctities, and supporting the oppressed within it, a pure support for Allah (swt), with which you hope it is for His (swt) sake, erasing from you the abomination of the rulers and their sins, and the disgrace they have put upon you, and what has befallen you from their wickedness. So, support Allah, and He will grant you victory and forgive you for what you have previously committed, and you will achieve a great victory, and you will remember what we tell you, and delegate our affairs to Allah.
“But those who have believed and emigrated and fought in the cause of Allāh and those who gave shelter and aided - it is they who are the believers, truly. For them is forgiveness and noble provision” [Al-Anfal: 74].
