Hizb ut Tahrir Hosted an International Seminar Addressing the Plight of the Royhingya Muslims of Myanmar

The Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in coordination with Hizb ut Tahrir / Malaysia have organised this important seminar today, 7th of July 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia entitled "One Year On, Who Will Save the Royhingya Muslim Women and Children?". The Seminar addressed the ethnic bloodbath that has been the plight of millions of Rakhine men, women and children of Myanmar. These innocent and helpless Muslims have had a long history of being hunted and abused by the Buddhist monks of the region who have been aided by the Burmese security forces. Their long history of inhumane and brutal treatment has caused them to be labelled as the ‘most persecuted people on earth'. This Seminar represented part of an international campaign launched by the Women of the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir. In this seminar, we invited female opinion makers from across South East Asia and had international speakers who clarified the following points:

1) The plight of the Rohingya Women and Children as one of an organised and systematic policy of ethnic murder that has unleashed the most horrific tactics of slaughter upon the stateless and defenceless citizens. The Rakhine Muslim women and children are under specific attack with well-documented accounts of entire villages of people being burnt alive in their homes and where rape has been used as a tool of war and a tool for persecution.

2) The failure of Democracy and international law to secure the blood and rights of minorities as nationalism corrupts the concept of citizenship. The Burmese regime has undertaken various ‘democratic reforms' that have only lead to the escalation of violence against the Rakhine Muslims. International democratic institutions and media have consistently turned a blind eye to the actions of the Burmese government as economic and political interests take priority over justice and moral obligations.

3) The solutions that Western states and the international community have put forward have only increased the suffering of minority groups as they when they make effort to flee in order to save their own lives, there are often forces back into the hands of their butchers or are placed in camps where they are treated like animals and often wait years just to get assessed by the UN for refugee status. The wealthy prosperous countries of the Muslims world have failed the Rohingya both in giving them refuge or mobilising armies to protect them. Muslims of the world wish to expose account them for their gross failure to act upon their responsibility as Muslim Rulers.

4) To show how the Khilafah "Caliphate" alone can save and protect the Rohingya women and children and provide them dignified lives. This will be achieved by the Khilafah "Caliphate"'s rejection of nationalism, its unification of the Muslim world and its elevated view of citizenship that provides the same rights for all its citizens - including the Dhimma or what they call ‘minorities'. Hizb ut Tahrir is an Islamic global political party that has taken the lead in the publicizing the plight of the Rohingya Muslims in multiple languages to reach the global community using multiple styles such as local and international conferences and meetings, internet groups and regularly publishing material on the issue.

Finally, we call upon the Muslims and international thinkers to join our work for a real political alternative to the  corrupt and failing systems of the current political climate and support the return of the Second Khilafah "Caliphate" Rahsidah under the leadership of the eminent scholar Ata Bin Khalil Al-Rashtah, Ameer of Hizb ut Tahrir. For the Khilafah "Caliphate" alone will provide real, comprehensive and sincere solutions to the exploitation and persecution of all minorities such as those in Syria, China, Palestine, Africa and beyond.
