Press Release
Criticism of Israel Unacceptable to Australian Government
Following in the steps of Barack Obama and the US, Kevin Rudd and the Australian Government has decided to avoid the forthcoming UN conference on racism in Geneva. Stephen Smith, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, said that he was not convinced that the conference would not be a platform for anti-Semitic sentiment.
Uthman Badar, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia, says in this regard,
"What Stephen Smith means by ‘anti-Semitic sentiment' is legitimate criticism of Israel. In the usual blind acquiescence of US policy, the Rudd government finds criticism of Israel unacceptable. What they do find acceptable is an illegal invasion built upon the displacement of an entire people - the reality of Israel."
"The UN conference itself will be as futile as most other UN initiatives, and is not the issue at hand. What is indicative in the Australian and American responses however is that we see once again that in essence Kevin Rudd is no different to John Howard, just as Barack Obama is hardly distinguishable from George Bush. They are all different sides of the same secular liberal cube whereby ‘national interest' relegates all notions of morality and integrity to the periphery. More importantly, they are all one in their War against Islam."
Ends.
