Privatization of Southern Port of Port Sudan
Another Crime that the Government Draws Itself Close to the Kafir West!!
(Translated)
Five international companies, French, Filipino and others, have indicated their desire to inspect the southern port of Port Sudan in preparation to discuss the possibility of applying for its concession bid (Al-Saiha Newspaper 05/8/2017). The meeting of the Maritime Ports Authority was held on 30 July 2017 in the presence of the Ministers of State for Finance and Transport. The meeting agreed to the proposal of the Authority's administration to separate the southern port to expedite the development and research process; which means privatizing the southern port. This comes in implementation of the decision of the Committee formed by the Minister of Transport, in 2016, which concluded that (the southern container port should be put in a concession tender for foreign companies operating in the ports)!!
The southern port of Port Sudan which is intended to be privatized is the only container port in Sudan. It receives 300 ships a year, at a minimum rate of 40,000 containers a month, that is 55 containers per hour. There are more than 250 bridge machines, tugs or cranes in the port with around 2000 workers, and through this port enter most of the ports’ revenues, estimated at (2 trillion pounds annually). So, why does the government seek to privatize the southern port? A successful, profitable institution, to make its revenues instead of being deposited in the public treasury, pour into the pockets of capitalist companies, as was previously the case with the communications sector, where suspicious policies deprived the people of the country of billions of dollars which pour every year in the pockets of the telecoms companies that monopolyze this sector!
The privatization of the only port of containers, results in the loss of large sums of money from the state’s treasury, and dismissing around 2,000 workers from their jobs, which their families are dependent on, adding them to the unemployment lists, which extend and do not shorten. All that is a treason for the citizens, and an abandonment of the Amanah (Trust) and the responsibility of ruling. The Prophet (saw) said:«مَا مِنْ وَالٍ يَلِي رَعِيَّةً مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَيَمُوتُ وَهُوَ غَاشٌّ لَهُمْ إِلا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ».“If any ruler having the authority to rule Muslim subjects dies while he is deceiving them, Allah will forbid Paradise for him.”
The privatization of the southern port, and the subsequent privatization of the country's institutions and its wealth, and its removal from the ownership of its people into the ownership of the wild capitalist companies is a requirement for accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). After years of freezing the Sudan's membership file, which had applied for accession in October 1994, the fourth round of accession negotiations, held in Geneva on 12/07/2017, witnessed international support and backing. Indeed, the Director General of the World Trade Organization (Roberto Azzedo) paid tribute to the efforts of Sudan to complete the requirements within a maximum of nine months (Middle East Newspaper 17/7/2017). This is consistent with what the Minister of International Cooperation Hadi Idris Sulaiman said, that his country initiated internal arrangements to meet the requirements of accession to the WTO. (The New Arab 5/8/2017)
The World Trade Organization (WTO) was established by the major industrialized colonial powers in the West, on the ruins of the Tariff Convention (GATT), after these states had established an advanced industry, behind high barriers of customs protection, and then went out to plunder the fortunes of vulnerable states. This necessitated the removal of all obstacles, and put forward the idea of free trade, in order to gain access to markets and wealth after they have divided states into industrialized and consuming countries supplying raw materials for them at the lowest prices and become a market for their products. They thereby prevent the development of the emerging industry in these countries by introducing them into an unequal arena of conflict through the removal of tariff barriers. Thus, these states remain a source of raw materials, handing over all their wealth to capital firms, and the human being remains a depleted slave or unemployed person!
This is confirmed in the annual report of the Central Bank of Sudan for the year 2015 on exports: Animal resources (raw materials 23.8%), Agricultural resources (raw materials 26.3%), Mineral resources (raw materials 23.8), Oil resources (raw materials 19.8%), whereas, processed materials they are less than one integer (0.7%).
This report shows that Sudan is but a farm for the capitalist companies that plunder its wealth, consisting of raw materials, with the lowest price, while the industry it is not existing. This situation is intended to be perpetuated through Sudan's membership in the World Trade Organization!!
O Muslims: These regimes, which are disconnected from the Ummah's creed, are the treasury of the permanent evil, moving from one betrayal to a greater one, and from one crime to another even worse. Let us all say: Enough for these Ruwaibidhat (ignorant rulers), and buckle down to work day and night for the establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (righteous Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood, where the great pious politicians, provide good care of the affairs and seek the pleasure of Allah Almighty, and then the colonizer Kafir West is going to know to what kind of return it will be returned.
