28 Rajab 1342 AH - The Abolishment of the Caliphate:
Muslims are Obliged to Re-Establish it
(Translated)
The 14th General Election which will be held on the 9th of May 2018 will determine whether the Barisan Nasional government will continue its ruling legacy or history will be created where the opposition forms a new government. We may also witness the formation of a unity government by the competing parties if neither Barisan Nasional nor the opposition Pakatan Harapan are able to clinch the majority vote - everything will be answered after the election. These scenarios are all part of the democratic election practice; a new government will be elected when the governing period of the previous government ends. Those who are elected will then undertake the legislative function which is to legislate laws within the secular-democratic framework.
What need to be understood is that this election process is not designed as a mechanism to change the secular-democratic system to an Islamic system or any other systems. On the contrary the election serves to ensure the continuity of the secular-democratic system. The implementation of this system is one of the biggest victories for the Western colonial powers in preventing the Islamic system from being re-established. The Khilafah system had provided protection and brought prosperity to Muslims and non-Muslims alike for approximately 1300 years before it was officially abolished by the traitor Mustafa Kemal Ataturk on the 28th of Rajab 1342 Hijri or the 3rd of March 1924 in Ottoman Turkey. Since losing their protector, Muslims began to be the victims in many international conflicts.
«إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ»
“Verily the Imam (khalifah) is but a shield (protection) behind whom you fight and protect yourself.” [Hadith narrated by Bukhari, Muslim and Ahmad]
Amongst the calamities that befell Muslims due to the destruction of the Khilafah is the conflict in the blessed land of Palestine. Al-Aqsa which witnessed the event of Isra' wal Mi'raj of the Prophet Rasulullah (saw) on the 27th of Rajab is currently being colonized by the Zionist regime. Much Muslim blood have been spilled on the blessed land and now millions are living as refugees due to the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime. From the west to the east of the globe, Muslims are victimized.
Muslims in Arakan are being hunted and killed ruthlessly by the Myanmar regime. Muslims in Syria are massacred without mercy, bombed and gassed by the Bashar regime with the assistance of Russia and its allies. Similar fate also happened to Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kashmir, Southern Thailand, Southern Philippines, Xinjiang and Chechnya.
O Ummah of Rasulullah (saw), have you ever thought of why these calamities befell the Muslims? Aren’t they (Muslims throughout the world) our brothers and sisters in faith?
They are indeed our brothers and sisters bonded by the kalimah of tauhid (the oneness of Allah) Laa Ilaha Illallah, Muhammadur Rasulullah. Unfortunately, the shackles of nation state borders created by the West dissolve the bond of brotherhood amongst us. Allah (swt) says,
(إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ)
“The believers are but brothers” [TMQ al-Hujurat (49):10].
O Muslims! We have to come to the realization that none of the current Muslim rulers are defending us like what had been accomplished by Khalifah Al-Mu'tasim. There is no more Salahuddin Al-Ayubi who will wage jihad to liberate the blessed land of Palestine. Today, Muslim rulers without shame and guilt treacherously collaborate with the Western kuffar to wage war against their fellow Muslims. Before the Muslims, they gave fiery speeches pretending to defend the Ummah but on the next day, they warmly hug and shake the hands of the enemies of Islam which are still freshly stained with Muslim blood. Such is the hypocrisy and treachery of the Muslim rulers who are in reality just Western stooges that cannot be trusted.
O Muslims!
The effort to re-establish the Khilafah system must begin with the awareness that the laws revealed by Allah (swt) must be held at the highest position in the nation's rule. Allah has revealed to us through the holy Al-Quran and the Sunnah of Rasulullah (saw) the method of implementing these rules of Allah in a holistic manner.
This can only be achieved by establishing a State which implements the Islamic ruling system in its totality i.e. the Khilafah State. The Khilafah State is the mother of the implementation of various divine rules in our lives. When the Khilafah State was abolished on the 28th of Rajab 1342 AH, a large portion of the Shariah law can no longer be implemented. Only small parts of the Islamic law concerning morals, worship and a limited sphere of muamalat (relations) remain practised. It is unfortunately true that after the fall of the Khilafah State, the mother of all obligations, the Islamic life that had existed for more than 1300 years has practically disappeared from the Ummah.
The re-establishment of Khilafah is an obligation and an honourable political task because without the Khilafah, Shariah cannot be implemented comprehensively. This is in accordance with the Shara' precept Mâ lâ Yatimmu al-Wâjibu illâ bihi fa Huwa Wâjib (when an obligation cannot be fulfilled without a factor, then that factor becomes obligatory). The Prophet (saw), who is our shining example has explicitly demonstrated to us the method of establishing the Khilafah ruling system. It is this method that we have to follow in establishing the Khilafah State. It is this methodology that will bring about true change – where the laws of man will be totally replaced by the laws of Allah (swt). Verily, whichever party rules after the election, if the system remains the same - the secular-democratic system, in reality, true change is still not attained.
O Muslims! Verily the honour, prosperity and true change within the Islamic ummah can only be attained by the return of the Khilafah State, the supreme political institution for Muslims. This was the experience of the previous generations when they lived under the shade of the Khilafah. And inshaAllah, this is also what we wish to experience with the re-establishment of this noble institution that unites all Muslims. Al-Quran and As-Sunnah will again be the regulator in the affairs of life and statehood. The glory that had been lost all this while will surely return to us, by will of Allah (swt).
And the light of virtue and goodness will shine its rays to every corner of the globe. And the whole world will be covered with blessings and mercy from Allah Azza wa Jalla.
O Brothers and Sisters, Allah Azza wa Jalla has granted the power in your hands to appoint and to pledge allegiance to a Khalifah who will administer this world with the commands and prohibitions of Allah and subsequently bring victory and glory to you. Therefore, wake up my brothers and sisters! Let us revive ourselves - join the Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir in your efforts to re-establish Islam. Indeed Hizb ut Tahrir is amongst you and is with you. Hizb ut Tahrir has promised to Allah and His Messenger to strive with the upmost effort and dedication to spread the message of Allah and to seek nusrah (assistance) so that the Islamic way of life will be revived by re-establishing the Daulah Khilafah ar-Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood. To Allah we pray and only to Him we seek protection.
