CMO Women's Section: Greetings on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan 1436 AH

Message by Dr. Nazreen Nawaz, Director of the Women's Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1436 AH

Thursday 1 Ramadan 1436 AH corresponding to June 18, 2015 CE

On 06 June, 2015, during the Indian Prime Minister Modi’s visit, Bangladesh-India concluded 22 agreements and memorandums of understanding on issues ranging from “connectivity” and infrastructure to health and education. Media frenzy over Modi’s visit vis-à-vis the imaginary benefits that Bangladesh would receive out of these agreements are in fact nothing but sensationalism over truth. To put matter into perspective, no one apart from the politically naïve ones and sell-outs buy the idea that deals with India will bring us economic wellbeing, whereas the fact of the matter is that India itself is a poverty-ridden country, which miserably failed to resolve her own economic crisis and thus topped world hunger list this year with 194 million people.

Within the global campaign “Rohingya: Stateless at Sea OR Part of Khairu Ummah?” that was launched by the Women's Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir, female members of Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Jordan held a seminar on Saturday, 26 Sha’ban 1436 AH corresponding to 13/06/2015 CE to shed more light on the tragedy of the Rohingya Muslims.

Radio Azadliq stated that women wearing Khimars (Headscarves) have been subjected to harassment to force them to remove Khimars from their heads in Qulliq market in the city of Tashkent, according to Tashkent residents who told the radio of this. They said that those who agreed to remove their Khimars were released, and whoever opposed this were escorted to the Department of Internal Affairs in Biktmir area
