On the 45th anniversary of Hafez Assad sale of the Golan Heights to the Jewish State, we bring to the Muslims in Syria the news of the imminent fall of the treacherous regime of Assad (Translated)

Throughout those days of June 1967, the Arab rulers at the time committed a heinous crime against the Muslim ummah. During those six days, they enabled the Jewish state to defeat the armies of the Muslim ummah in Egypt, Jordan and Syria, led by their criminal leaders, including Hafez Assad in Syria, who announced the fall of Qunaitra one whole day before the entry of the enemy to the Golan Heights. The town of Qunaitra was located behind the lines of the Syrian army fighting then in the Golan Heights; thus leading to the disruption and withdrawal of the army. On that fateful day, Hafiz Assad, the agent of the West received authority in Damascus as a prize for selling off the Golan Heights.

So, Syria was struck many times under the leadership of this criminal family:

On the day when Hafez Assad sold off the Golan Heights, the day when he secured the borders of the Jewish state, the day he committed the massacre of Hama, and the day when the murderer Bashar inherited the authority after the death of his father, the killer. Here is Bashar today, continuing the criminal legacy of his father by committing daily massacres in Syria with the complicity of the entire world against its blessed revolution. This is because there is still a debt owed since the sale of the Golan Heights. We, in Hizb ut-Tahrir in Syria remind the people, especially those who claim to resist the occupation and live off the support of this criminal regime, that Hafez Assad who sold off the Golan, and his son after him are the loyal allies of the Jewish state. Bashar announced yesterday before the new council of puppets that the enemy is not at the battle front against the Jews; rather the enemy is at home: in the heart of Homs which is pounded day and night, in Dar'aa, Idleb, Aleppo and Damascus, which are embittered by bombing, killing and detention ... We remind people that the shells of Bashar killed the defenseless Muslim people, dozens of times more than the Jewish state killed in all of its wars with Syria. Is it not time for the advocates of this regime to come to their senses, if they have any, to understand that they support a malicious, criminal, and oppressive agent regime that not only protects the Jewish state; but is the bitterest enemy of the ummah: her deen, her land and her honour. He (SWT) says:

"Do they not travel through the earth, where they would have hearts by which they contemplate, or ears by which they hear. Indeed, the sight is not blind; it is rather the hearts (located) in the chests are blind"

In conclusion, we say to the rising Muslim people in beloved Syria:

You have realized the path to your salvation through the revolution against this criminal regime; and you understood the stance of America and the West against from the successive deadlines given to the regime; the latest deadline was the Annan plan. Since the announcement of this plan the number of martyrs reached more than 2286 martyrs, of whom 206 are children and 214 are women. So, declare the categorical rejection of any intervention of the West in your issues, and cut off the head of the snake and purify the country of the Al Assad criminal ring and their associates. Let the memory of the conspiracy of June 1967 be another motivation for you to revenge the violation of the sanctities of Allah. Hand over the reins of your authority to the faithful of you from Hizb ut-Tahrir to establish the state of Islam, the rightly guided Khilafah "Caliphate" State. Then the Muslim armies led by the Khaleefah will rush for a victory which our hearts have longed for, to defeat the enemy, and return every occupied, wasted or sold inch of the land of Islam. Rather, they would spread the Truth to the entire world, so that your State returns as a beacon of light, and your ummah becomes the best nation brought for mankind. Stand firm; for no matter the forces of evil gathered against you they are more despicable in the sight of Allah than the dung beetle. Look to the heavens rather than to the earth; for Allah All Mighty alone is your supporter, and He promised you of victory; and indeed His promise is true. He (SWT) says:

"And remember when you were few and vulnerable on earth; where you were afraid that people might sweep you away; so He gave you homage, supported you with His victory and provided you with good things, that you may be grateful."

Egypt's farcical presidential election makes a mockery of the sacrifices of the revolution and strengthens America's control over Egypt!

  • Published in Analysis
  •   |

Almost eighteen months after the downfall of Mubarak, America through her loyal agents in the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) has effectively scuttled the Egyptian revolution and disarmed the Muslim brotherhood. By doing so, the US has successfully managed to keep the regime intact minus a few missing faces. This is similar to the much coveted Yemeni model, where the West was able to keep Salah's regime in power without him. In the present Egyptian regime, the only outward casualty of any prominence is Mubarak. Set against this background the claims of a Morsi victory in the presidential elections by supporters of the Muslim brotherhood not only sound increasingly hollow but are extremely naïve indeed.

Over the past year or so, SCAF a vestige of the Nasserite period has adroitly hoodwinked the Egyptian people and tamed the divided opposition to retain absolute control over Egyptian affairs and continue with America's hegemony in the region. The nomination of Shafiq's candidature to the presidency, acquittal of Mubarak's sons, and the declaration by the Supreme Court to dissolve parliament are just some of the glaring measures enacted by the army generals to ensure that SCAF retains its grip on power. But perhaps the most daring of all political maneuvers instigated by SCAF was its decree to limit the powers of the President.

Such an act bestows full control to the army general over all civilian and legislative matters. In summary it is a carte blanche to write the country's constitutions in the army's image. SCAF is free to appoint assembly members to write the constitution, interfere in the drafting of the articles and veto any proposed canons that are deemed against the interests of the army generals.

SCAF could not have mustered the courage to take such a bold military coup against the Egyptian people if it was not for the antics of the Islamic opposition. The Islamic opposition never spoke with one voice and repeatedly contradicted itself by trying to please the West, the army, the Egyptian Muslims and the rest. The Islamic parties were unable to express unambiguous opinions on Egypt's relations with America and Israel, the role of Shariah in society, the system of ruling and the treatment of non-Muslims. In their quest to appease the West they forgot to fear Allah (SWT) and sought to assuage the apprehensions of His (SWT) creation. Allah says:

"Oh you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared and die not except as Muslims." [Al-Imran: 102]

"Oh you who believe! Keep your duty to Allah and fear Him, and always speak the truth. He will direct you to do righteous deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, has indeed achieved a great achievement." [Al-Ahzaab: 70-71]

In their desire to appear more liberal to the West, the Islamic opposition lost the confidence of ordinary Egyptians, many of whom increasingly saw hypocrisy in their actions and began to turn away from them. Ordinary Muslims were not the only ones who were disappointed. The rank and file of these movements, especially the young, challenged the stance adopted by their leaders. They found it very difficult to digest Islam's domination by Taghoot. Allah says:

"Have you seen those who claim to believe in the revelation revealed to you and the revelation revealed earlier? They seek the ruling of taghoot (non-Islam) although they have been ordered to disbelieve in it." [TMQ An-Nisa: 60].

However, what made matters worse for the Islamic opposition was their blind adherence to the democratic election process while remaining silent on the actions of SCAF. Islamic parties in Egypt must understand that it is impossible to bring Islam through either participation or negotiations with the systems of Kufr. Our modern history is replete with examples where Islamic parties have failed miserably to bring about Islam through engagement with Kufr. The dismissal of the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) in Algeria in 1991 and the exploitation of the Mutahiddah Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) by Musharraf in 2002 are two such striking examples.

The only way for Muslims of Egypt to escape from the tyranny of the West and the rule of their agents is through the re-establishment of the Islamic state. Islamic parties must join forces with Muslims of Egypt and collaborate with sincere officers in the Egyptian army to re-establish Khliafah Rashida by giving baya to the Khaleefah who will rule according to the Quran and Sunnah.

"Verily, Allah will help those who help His (cause)." [Al-Hajj: 40]

George Soros warns European Union is going down in 3 months:

George Soros has laid it on the line. The eurozone will begin to break up, followed by the break-up of the European Union, within three months if the politicians do not come to an agreement to re-write the treaties and centralize power. No other figure has been this apocalyptic and this specific as to the timetable. He sees this outcome as a catastrophe. I keep thinking: "Free at last! Free at last!" Soros understands the price movements of currencies better than anyone else. This is how he became a multi-billionaire. He has used massive leverage - extremely high risk - to speculate in the currency futures markets, often taking the opposite side of trades with central banks. When a man has enough wisdom to beat the currency futures markets, I give him credit. He knows something about currencies. In a recent essay, he points out that the 2008 crisis created a new realization that there is no consensus about economic theory. He insists that "economic theory has failed." On the contrary, economic theory has triumphed - Austrian economic theory. In 2007, numerous non-academic, non-tenured Austrians predicted the recession of 2008. I called it in late 2006, predicting a 2007 recession. The National Bureau of Economic Research retroactively dated it as having begun in December 2007 - just in the nick of time! Soros goes even further. This failure is the failure of academic economic theory. I believe that the failure is more profound than generally recognized. It goes back to the foundations of economic theory. Economics tried to model itself on Newtonian physics. It sought to establish universally and timelessly valid laws governing reality. But economics is a social science and there is a fundamental difference between the natural and social sciences. Social phenomena have thinking participants who base their decisions on imperfect knowledge. That is what economic theory has tried to ignore.

Russia and China use SCO to support Assad:

Ahead of U.N. discussions on Syria, a conference of Central Asian nations Thursday rejected outside military intervention to end the violence there and called for a domestic resolution. China and Russia, both attending the Beijing summit, have been seen as protecting the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, blamed for a harsh crackdown on a 15-month popular uprising. A joint statement from the 6-nation Shanghai Cooperation Organization said "all violent behavior in Syria must stop" and said the group supports a broad domestic dialogue that respects Syria's sovereignty and independence. It said the SCO members oppose military interference, unilateral sanctions and the "forced transfer of power." Despite widespread international condemnation of its actions, Syria's government has survived through a combination of brutal repression and the political backing of Moscow. Along with China, Russia has twice blocked U.N. condemnations and punitive actions against the regime. Also at the summit, the SCO granted Afghanistan observer status in a move to consolidate ties with the war-torn nation before most foreign combat troops depart by the end of 2014.Russia and China have long seen the six-nation group as a way to counter U.S. influence in Central Asia, and hope to play a significant role in Afghanistan's future development, especially in economic reconstruction. Afghanistan, whose president, Hamid Karzai, attended the summit, joins India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan as SCO observer states. The group also admitted Turkey as one of its three dialogue partners.

US Offers Bounty for Somali militants:

The United States is offering a new set of rewards for information on the whereabouts of leaders of the Somali militant group al-Shabab. The State Department announced the rewards Thursday through its Rewards for Justice program, marking the first time a specific premium has been placed on the heads of top members of al-Shabab, which the United States considers a terrorist group. The U.S. is offering up to $7 million for al-Shabab's operational leader Ahmed Abdi aw-Mohamed. Separate rewards of up to $5 million each were offered for four of his top associates - Ibrahim Haji Jama, Fuad Mohamed Khalaf, Bashir Mohamed Mahamoud, and Mukhtar Robow. Rewards of up to $3 million were also offered for two other top members of the group, Zakariya Ismail Ahmed Hersi and Abdullahi Yare. The U.S. placed al-Shabab on its list of terrorist organizations in 2008. The militant group has been linked to attacks in Somalia and Uganda. Al-Shabab once controlled much of Somalia and nearly all of the capital, Mogadishu, but lost most of its territory during an 18-month offensive involving African Union forces, the Somali government, Ethiopia and Kenya.

Suicides surge among US troops:

Suicides are surging among America's troops, averaging nearly one a day this year - the fastest pace in the nation's decade of war. The 154 suicides for active-duty troops in the first 155 days of the year far outdistance the U.S. forces killed in action in Afghanistan - about 50 percent more - according to Pentagon statistics obtained by The Associated Press. The numbers reflect a military burdened with wartime demands from Iraq and Afghanistan that have taken a greater toll than foreseen a decade ago. The military also is struggling with increased sexual assaults, alcohol abuse, domestic violence and other misbehaviour. Because suicides had leveled off in 2010 and 2011, this year's upswing has caught some officials by surprise. The reasons for the increase are not fully understood. Among explanations, studies have pointed to combat exposure, post-traumatic stress, misuse of prescription medications and personal financial problems. Army data suggest soldiers with multiple combat tours are at greater risk of committing suicide, although a substantial proportion of Army suicides are committed by soldiers who never deployed. The unpopular war in Afghanistan is winding down with the last combat troops scheduled to leave at the end of 2014. But this year has seen record numbers of soldiers being killed by Afghan troops, and there also have been several scandals involving U.S. troop misconduct.

Panetta to Pakistan: US Patience 'Reaching Limits':

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on Thursday pressured Pakistan to do more to root out the al-Qaida-linked Haqqani terrorist network from its territory, saying that U.S. officials are "reaching the limits of our patience." The Haqqani group has been blamed for several attacks on Americans in Afghanistan, including last year's attack against the U.S. Embassy and NATO headquarters in Kabul. It also has ties to the Taliban and has emerged as perhaps the biggest threat to stability in Afghanistan. U.S. lawmakers from both parties have been urging the U.S. State Department to designate the Haqqani network a foreign terrorist organization. The U.S. has given Pakistan billions of dollars in aid for its support in fighting Islamist militants. Despite pressure from the U.S., Pakistan has remained reluctant to go after insurgents, particularly the Haqqani network. Panetta's remarks capped two days of blunt commentary on Pakistan. "It is an increasing concern that the safe haven exists and that there are those - likely Haqqanis - who are making use of that to attack our forces," Panetta said at a news conference with Afghan Defense Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak. "We are reaching the limits of our patience here, and for that reason it is extremely important that Pakistan take action to prevent this kind of safe haven from taking place and allowing terrorists to use their country as a safety net in order to conduct their attacks on our forces. We have made that very clear time and time again and we will continue to do that, but as I said, we are reaching the limits of our patience."

The next chapter in the revival of the Muslim World.

30th June 2012 - London

07th July 2012 - Manchester

Muslims globally are demanding a clear and profound change to improve their situation, with the calls for Shari'ah, Khilafah "Caliphate" and Islam ringing in the streets from Cairo to Damascus and beyond. Despite this, the only options being laid out before them are solutions from the Western economic and political models, often disguised with notional Islamic terminology.

It is in this context that Hizb ut-Tahrir is pleased to announce a ground-breaking International Conference, to be held in London on 30th June 2012 and in Manchester on 7th July 2012.

Before a global audience both in person and via a live web-broadcast and with a host of respected international speakers, we will demonstrate how only true Islamic political solutions can unlock the potential within the Muslim world by offering genuine practical solutions to create an independent and prosperous Middle East, one that is free from political and economic dependence on Western powers.
