Diplomatic Relations with Iran is Political Suicide for Taliban

  • Published in News & Comment

News:

According to the Islamic Republic of Iran's semiofficial Fars News agency report on 1st June 2013, a Taliban political delegation visited Iran. The delegation headed by Tayeb Aagha from the political office of Taliban in Doha, held meetings with the Iranian security officials. The source further adds that the representatives of the Taliban movement particularly Higher Education Minister Muhammad Allah Nomani and Maydan Wardak Governor Shams-ud-Din Pahlawan during Taliban era; attended the latest Conference of Ulema and Islamic Awakening in the Iranian capital. Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, the Taliban spokesperson confirmed the news released by Fars News Agency. He further expressed that the meeting was organized to discuss bilateral issues. In the meantime, Iranian embassy in Kabul has denied the report and refused any kind of discussions between Iran's Intelligence officials and the Taliban. The Pakistani Express Tribune Newspaper also said that Iran is trying hard to pave the way and ensure its role in post-2014 Afghanistan.

Comment:

The Taliban stance against the NATO-American occupation of Afghanistan is an Islamic stance in itself; this is why they gained much popularity and support among ordinary Afghans across the country. On the ground, however, the high rate of civilian causalities and their silence on attacks launched by intelligence and security agencies are two points that damaged their status. Moreover, the Taliban try to make relations with the countries that were directly involved in moving off their government. These governments, e.g. Pakistan even submitted many Al Qaida and Taliban leaders to the US and NATO forces. Pakistan's Army and Intelligence Service support to the invasion of Afghanistan is obviously clear to all, meanwhile, some Iranian higher officials also flattery have reminded the US many times that the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq without Iran's assistance was impossible.

In addition to this the reason why U.S. had launched its military onslaught against Taliban was their support of the "terrorists" and refusal to hand over Al-Qaida head Sheikh Osama Bin Laden. However, today the same U.S. is siding with the criminals of Hezbollah, Islamic Revolution Iranian Revolutionary Guards "Sepah e Pasdaran Inqilab Islami" and Iraqi forces, in their savagery against the innocent civilians in Syria and Iraq all will be forgotten by Taliban. Moreover, a political dialogue and amity with Iran also dents the credibility of Taliban. On the other hand the visit of Taliban's delegation to Iran from Qatar, indicates that is has the assent of U.S. because opening an office in Qatar, where U.S. has the biggest military base ‘Al-Adeed", without U.S. consent is not possible, as U.S. wants to keep an eye on the whole process.

The role of Turkey, Saudi, Pakistan and Qatar in the hot issues of the Islamic Ummah is in fact the instrument of U.S. and UK to micromanage the affairs through these puppets. For instance if we look at the situation in Syria, that too is taken care of by Turkey, Jordan and Qatar. Moreover, the recent evidences suggests that the Syrian issue has transferred from Qatar to Saudi which has a major role in the Syrian conflict using as a U.S's base. U.S. is also using Iran to incite sectarian conflict in the region, like in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syrian.

In all these three major issues, Iran and U.S. shares the same opinion and using the same taxi stand, though there may be some difference between the styles and resources used by Iran and other countries like Saudi, Gulf and Pakistan.  U.S. is now using the sectarian card of Shia and Sunni to create a rift in the region and as a result colonize both of them, by using the agent rulers. Besides, the visit of Taliban's delegation to Iran is damaging the Afghan government position but at the same time proves the point that Taliban has withdrawn from its claimant previous position of representing the Muslim Ummah and converted to just an Afghan resistance movement, that doesn't consider Syrian and Iraqi struggle as theirs, that's why they are doing all these diplomatic visits. This also indicates a major shift in the policy, which in fact is a political suicide for Taliban, both from Islamic and political point of view. Our beloved Prophet (saw) said in one of his Hadith:" لا يلدغ المؤمن من جحر واحد مرتين" "A Believer is not stung twice by the same hole", but it seems that Taliban has not taken any heed from this Hadith; they are repeating the same mistakes they have committed in their previous era of reply on the Saudi, Pakistani and UAE governments, who are U.S. Pawns.

Taliban should take heed from the previous deceptions they faced at the hands of these governments and should stop betraying the blood of the Mujahedeen, so that the signs of hypocrisy should not come in them, from which Allah (swt) has warned us.

"Do they not see how once or twice every year they are tried? Yet still they neither repent nor remember." [at-Tawba:126]

Islam Taking Over, Europe Soon To Be Unrecognizable:

According to Dr. Mordechai Kedar, European softening, together with demographics, is leading to 'abysmal' change. Dr. Avika Libman: Riots start with preachers demanding Muslim state.  Europe's alarm clock has been ringing once again over the past week. The negative birthrate compared to the increase in Muslims, the heavy unemployment and the social-religious isolation of European immigrants are all back on the agenda. "Europe has lost its will to live as Europe," said Mideast expert Dr. Mordechai Kedar to Ynet. "It is gathered into museums, into history. If the leaders will not put an end to immigration, we will soon be hearing the death throes of the continent as we know it." Dr. Zvika Libman studies the effects of the Muslim minority in Europe in light of the radical Islam on European countries. When he sees the reality, he said, there is no alternative interpretation for the events. "There is no doubt that the unemployment and the economic hardships lead to rioting, as happened in France. And yes, there is a disadvantage compared to the European bourgeois, but this is not solely bitterness due to the economic situation - because there is unemployment among youngsters who are not Muslim, like in Spain for example. The Muslims have a fertile ground of mosques that awaken them, preach to them that they are deprived, that they don't belong, that they're not wanted and that the only solution is a country with an Arab majority. This is the starting point for these riots." According to Dr. Libman, Sweden is an example of the situation in Europe. Penniless immigrants coming from weakened and colonized countries, get housing, education and solid foundations from European welfare countries, and still express their anger at the establishment. How long will Europe contain the situation? "Good question," said Libman. "After WWII Europe is extra careful about anything that has to do with human rights and right to freedom. On the other hand, it absorbs aliens that do not integrate within the community. Europe needs manpower because the birthrate is low, they need those immigrants that seek to change the religious identity of the continent. It is an interesting time."

200 Russians Fighting Alongside Syrian Rebels, FSB says:

There are about 200 Russians currently fighting alongside rebels battling the Syrian regime, the head of Russia's Federal Security Service said Thursday. It is the first confirmation by Moscow that Russian-born Islamists are active in the Syrian civil war, and contradicts some earlier denials of their involvement by Russian officials. "There is great concern in Russia that there are about 200 militants from the Russian Federation fighting [in North Africa and Syria] on the side of the Caucasus Emirate [militant Islamic organization] under the flag of Al Qaeda and other affiliated structures," FSB head Alexander Bortnikov said at an international security conference. Most Russians fighting against the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad are believed to come from the North Caucasus, which has a thriving jihadist movement - the legacy of a series of brutal separatist wars following the fall of the Soviet Union. The Kremlin is particular concerned about instability in the North Caucasus ahead of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, which could be fueled by hardened fighters of Russian origin leaving Syria to go home. Sochi is a Russian Black Sea resort located in the vicinity of the volatile North Caucasus region. "This is a very serious threat for all states, for Russia and CIS countries and for European states and the American continent," said Bortnikov. "[But] the danger is that these terrorists will end up returning to the country from which they left." Russian officials have previously downplayed the role played by Russian militants in Syria. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said last year that it was a "hoax" to suggest Chechens were among the Syrian rebels. But evidence of Russian involvement with the rebel movement has grown as Syria's bloody civil war continues. Russia's most wanted man, rebel leader Doku Umarov, who is also the head of the Al Qaeda-linked Caucasus Emirate, appeared in a video last year saying that those fighting against Damascus were in his prayers. And a Russian-language website, Fisyria.com, was launched in March by a Syrian rebel group called Jaish al-Muhajireen wa Ansar ("Army of the Emigrants and Helpers").

US: Taliban Inflicting Heavy Losses on Afghan Troops:

The U.S. commander in Afghanistan, General Joseph Dunford, says Taliban insurgents are inflicting heavy losses on Afghan national security forces as the Afghans assume the lead.   U.S. Marine Corps General Joseph Dunford spoke to reporters on the sidelines of a gathering where U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel joined NATO defense ministers to talk about the way forward in Afghanistan as international forces prepare to draw down next year.  As that drawdown nears, international troops are taking up more of a support role and it is the Afghans who are in the lead against the insurgents.  Now on the front lines with international troops only providing backup, the Afghans are at risk for greater losses. Several weeks into the fighting season, General Dunford said the Taliban has done what it said it would do: step up high-profile assaults and insider attacks to create fear and intimidation.  He called the losses among Afghan forces significant. "The numbers have been, as I look back over the last six or eight weeks, it's probably been 70 in one week.  It was 44, 34 and then the last two weeks have been over 100," Dunford said.

US Commander Issues Stern Warning on S. China Sea Disputes:

The top American military commander in the Pacific issued a stern warning to any country that might try to seize control of disputed areas in the South China Sea: "We will oppose the change of status quo by force by anyone," Admiral Samuel Locklear, commander of U.S. Pacific Command, said during a visit to Malaysia on Wednesday. "We need to retain the status quo until we get to a code of conduct or a solution by party nations that is peacefully accepted." While Locklear did not mention China by name, China has been aggressively asserting its sovereignty over the disputed areas while some of its neighbors, including the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Brunei, are also defending their claims with diplomatic might. China's neighbors have been pushing for a code of conduct with China designed to ease tensions, but Beijing has not been clear about its desire for such a code. However, the top U.S. diplomat for East Asia, Joe Yun, said in Washington on Wednesday that China and the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations have reached an understanding that formal negotiations for a code would start later this year. Locklear said a code of conduct would allow the military "to understand the boundaries of what they can do in the best interest for a peaceful solution," adding that he didn't think tensions in the area were likely to escalate because the countries involved "understand this could be a long process, they understand restraint."

The Dangers of Iranian-Hezbollah Axis

  • Published in Analysis
  •   |

With each passing day, the depth and breadth of Iran's support for Assad's floundering regime becomes ever more apparent. The latest news to emerge from Syria is that sophisticated technology supplied by Russia and Iran is boosting Assad's chances of staging a comeback against the brave opposition fighters. Equally revealing is the magnitude of the assistance provided by Hezbollah to Assad's brutal war machine. Hezbollah fighters deeply entrenched with Assad's men are engaged in several battles in and around Damascus, and near strategic town of Qusayer and elsewhere.

Over the past several months both Iran and Hizb-e-Iran (Hezbollah) have categorically denied their involvement in propping-up Assad's tyrannical rule, but now they openly embrace Assad as if he is part of their family. Together they have redoubled their efforts to shed Muslim blood on an unimaginable scale, and in the process have committed horrific war crimes.

The focus of their anger is directed towards the Sunni population of Syria whom they regard as an existential threat to their influence. Indeed, Hizb-e-Iran views the Islamic character of the uprising with deep trepidation. Recently, Nasrallah used the term ‘takfiri' to describe the Islamic threat emerging from Syria and as a justification for intervention.  This is ironic, as he chooses to embrace a Shia heretic Assad who is an Alawaite, and mainstream Shias consider Alawaites infidels.

Meanwhile, Tehran has thrown in its lot with the heretical regime of Assad and is petrified by the Islamic resurgence in Syria. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said, "We will not allow the Syrian government to be overthrown."

But if anyone had any doubt about the sincerity of Iran and its surrogate Hizb-e-Iran in defending the interests of the Islamic world they should look no further than Israel's attack on Damascus last month. Both were unashamedly exposed as they stuttered to offer a muzzled response. They clearly preferred the killing of Syrians instead of fighting their sworn enemy - the Jewish state. Yet, this is not the first time that Iran in particular has failed to come to the aid of the Muslim Ummah. The two Gulf wars, America's occupation of Afghanistan and Israel's war with Lebanon is ample of evidence of Tehran's duplicity and inactivity in defending the interests of the Islam.

While Iran is no friend of Sunni Islam, Tehran's treatment of fellow Shias is equally damming. In the second Gulf war, Tehran watched silently as the Americans fought and killed Shias in the cities of Najaf and Karbala. Tehran's apathy was repeated again in 2006, when Israel attacked Lebanon. During the war, Tehran did not even come to the aid of its staunchest ally Hezbollah and only offered moral support. In all of these examples, Tehran was only concerned with fortifying the hegemony of America and Israel.

The Shia leadership of the present is of the same ilk as the Shia leadership of the past. They prefer to side with the enemies of Islam, and do not care what happens to Sunnis or Shias. In the thirteenth century, Iben Al-Alqami a Shia politician and part of the Caliph al-Mustasim political entourage betrayed the Caliph and sided with Hulagu Khan by offering him intelligence and advice. Alqami's treachery allowed Hulagu Khan to ransack Baghdad and in the ensuing slaughter Hulagu's army did not differentiate between the killing of Sunnis or Shias.  Ibn Katheer then says, "After the Caliph was killed, they went and stormed through the country, killing everyone they were able to from men, women, and children, old and young, sick and healthy....The killing continued until it was said that the number of dead reached one million eight thousand bodies."

Shias should deeply reflect on the actions of their present leadership and they must resist in getting drawn into sectarian conflicts that only benefit foreign powers and their surrogates in Iran and Hizb-e-Iran. Rather they should support the re-establishment of the rightly guided Caliphate, where they can live in peace as citizens of the Islamic state and wait for the return of the Mahdi.
