Do you hope that the Jews and Americans will believe you? Whoever expects anything from them will only increase his confusion and loss. They are a people of slander, who have no covenant, no conscience, and no religion. The witnessed reality demonstrates their actions and the blackness and cruelty of their hearts. Allah (swt) said,
“And never think that Allāh is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them, i.e., their account, for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror]. * Racing ahead, their heads raised up, their glance does not come back to them, and their hearts are void.” [TMQ Surah Ibrahim 42-43]. And never think that Allah (swt) neglects the wrongdoers and does not hold them accountable. He (swt) only gives them respite for a term. They neither delay nor precede it. This authority, this ostentation, and this apparent bliss upon them are nothing but a punishment, not a blessing, and there is no mercy in it because of their disobedience to Allah (swt) and their taking lords besides Him (swt).
The “oppressors” are the Jews, the Americans, and those Muslims who do not rule by all that Allah (swt) has revealed, and who follow man-made laws and rulings in their rule, thus disobeying Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw). Allah (swt) said,
[إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ لِيَوۡمࣲ تَشۡخَصُ فِيهِ ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ] “He only delays them, i.e., their account, for a Day when eyes will stare in horror.” He delays them all for a Day when their eyes will bulge, staring into the air, not seeing anything. Allah (swt) said,
[مُهۡطِعِينَ مُقۡنِعِي رُءُوسِهِمۡ لَا يَرۡتَدُّ إِلَيۡهِمۡ طَرۡفُهُمۡۖ وَأَفۡئِدَتُهُمۡ هَوَآءࣱ]“Racing ahead, their heads raised up, their glance does not come back to them, and their hearts are void.” Their bodies are dazed, they are forced to walk quickly, their balance is disturbed, their necks are stretched out and taut, their heads are bowed in humiliation and disgrace, and their hearts are empty. Their eyes are fixed on the air, with no argument or evidence for them.
Allah (swt) said,
“O you who have believed, if you obey a party of those who were given the Scripture, they would turn you back, after your belief, to being kafireen. * And how could you disbelieve while to you are being recited the verses of Allah and among you is His Messenger? And whoever holds firmly to Allah has [indeed] been guided to a straight path.” [TMQ Aal-e-Imran 100-101]. Indeed, obeying the People of the Book, following them, receiving from them, and adopting their systems and laws is an internal, intellectual and psychological defeat that destroys the Islamic personality and makes submission to the disbelievers its foundation and path, thus stripping it of its distinction through the Islamic Aqeedah.
As for
“O you who have believed, if you obey a party of those who were given the Scripture” This is by adopting their systems and laws in governing and referring to them, organizing and regulating the affairs of your lives, its politics, and the management and care of your affairs. Then Allah warns,
[يَرُدُّوكُم بَعۡدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمۡ كَٰفِرِينَ] “they would turn you back, after your belief, to being kafireen.”
This is what we see in the reality of our lives these days. The Shariah Law of Allah (swt) is not applied in all Muslim lands, and oppression, injustice, and corruption are widespread in Muslim lands. It is the Shariah obligation of Muslims to adhere to the Shariah Law of Allah (swt), adhere to it in governance, and refer exclusively and comprehensively to it. The Islamic Ummah establishes and organizes its life according to Law of Allah (swt) and His method, and does not follow the path of the disbelievers and their way of life. Belief in Islam requires that governance, arbitration, judging, legislation, justice, equity, and the organization and governance of people’s lives in all aspects of life be exclusively and comprehensively in accordance with Islamic Shariah. Allah (swt) said,
“And whatever the Messenger has given you, take, and what he has forbidden you, refrain from. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in punishment.” [TMQ Al-Hashr: 7]. So the issue of ruling by all that Allah (swt) has revealed is the issue of faith, its validity, and its condition. So the believers rule and seek judgment by all that Allah (swt) has revealed to His Messenger (saw). They do not change anything from it, nor do they substitute anything for it, nor do they add to the law, or subtract from it. The disbelievers, the wrongdoers, and the wicked are those who do not rule by all that Allah (swt) has revealed. So, if you obey the People of the Book and you have complied with their systems and laws, so you are like them. Allah (swt) said,
[يَرُدُّوكُم بَعۡدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمۡ كَٰفِرِينَ] “they would turn you back, after your belief, to being kafireen.” By obeying them, you become disbelievers. Allah (swt) said,
“And how could you disbelieve while to you are being recited the verses of Allah and among you is His Messenger?” It is indeed a great sin and a grave transgression for a Muslim to disbelieve after his belief, even though he has known that Allah (swt) is the Truth, and that the Messenger of Allah (saw) has conveyed the message and fulfilled the trust.
After the Messenger of Allah (saw), Muslims have spread to the west and east of the earth, and we are addressed by the Noble Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah, just as the Muslims were addressed before us. They fulfilled their trust and conveyed the Risaalah message of our Messenger (saw). We are as if we have turned back, unmoved by the verses of Allah ﷻ and the Sunnah of His Messenger (saw). Allah (swt) said,
[وَمَن يَعۡتَصِم بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ هُدِيَ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ] “And whoever holds fast to Allah ﷻ has certainly been guided to a straight path.” [TMQ Surah aal-Imran 101]. Holding fast to Allah (swt) means adhering to His Deen, relying on Him, and seeking refuge in Him. Whoever holds fast to Allah’s Deen has obeyed Allah (swt) and obeyed His Messenger (saw). It is not permissible to receive guidance in belief, methodology, and organizing life’s affairs, except through what was revealed exclusively to the Messenger of Allah (saw).
On the authority of Abdullah Ibn Thabit (ra) said: Umar ibn al-Khattab came to the Prophet (saw) and said: O Messenger of Allah (saw), I passed by a brother of mine from the Qurayza tribe, and he wrote me some comprehensive verses from the Torah. Shall I not show them to you? The face of the Messenger of Allah (saw) changed. Abdullah said: I said to him: “Do you not see the face of the Messenger of Allah (saw)?” Umar said, “We are pleased with Allah as our Lord, Islam as our Deen, and Muhammad (saw) as our Messenger.” The Prophet's (saw) mood was relieved, and then he said,
«والذي نَفسي بيَدِه، لَو أصبَحَ فيكُم موسى ثُمَّ اتَّبَعتُموهُ وتَرَكتُموني لَضَلَلتُم، إنَّكُم حَظِّي مِنَ الأُمَمِ، وأنا حَظُّكُم مِنَ النَّبيِّينَ»
“By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, if Musa (as) appeared among you and you were to follow him and abandon me, you would go astray. You are my share among the nations, and I am your share among the Prophets (as).” [Narrated by Ahmad].
This is the approach of the Messenger of Allah (saw). He (saw) forbade receiving guidance from the People of the Book or from anyone else regarding matters of Iman, Law, and ritual worships, that is, regarding matters of Deen. It concerns the organization of life's affairs, the governance and guardianship of people, and the realization of their interests in all aspects of life.
All systems, laws, and regulations must emanate from the Book of Allah (swt) and the Sunnah of His Messenger (saw). The People of the Book are the most eager to mislead the Islamic Ummah from its Aqeedah. The Islamic Aqeedah is the source of strength, honor, inspiration, martyrdom, and support for the oppressed, and the spread of Islam, the Deen of truth, justice, and equity among people.
Our Lord, forgive us our sins and our transgressions in our affairs, and plant firmly our feet and grant us victory over the kafireen. Have mercy on us and have mercy on our parents and on those who have a right over us and on the believers on the Day of Judgment. May Allah ﷻ send blessings and peace upon Our Master Muhammad (saw) and upon all his family (ra) and Companions (ra). And praise be to Allah (swt), Lord of the Worlds. Allah (swt) said,
And Allah is predominant over His affair, but most of the people do not know.” [TMQ Surah Yusuf 21].
